I bought a scoop of Lentils to sprout for my salad.Do you make your own dressing for your salads? To the best of my knowledge my sprouts are "Potter Free" we usually make our own dressing but sometimes I get lazy I'd love to be able to go 100% raw but it's just plain difficult living in a family who are big into cooked meals. JW
I tend to eat (graze) throughout the day but for the past week I've had nothing but raw foods with the exception of dinner. I view it as a bit of a concession to the family (for everyone's sanity) but I make sure I eat as much raw food at dinner as possible question for all you raw food enthusiasts: would vega be considered acceptable? (it's considered whole food but raw?)what about hemp powder? or rice protein powder?
Jason
You've inspired me JW, I'm going to add much more raw back into my diet.I don't foresee me becoming 100% raw, especially living in Montana.Summer might be easy, but winter is/was very difficult. The Vega food bars are raw, but the powder has some cooked ingredients.I have Vega occassionally, I consider it a food. Not sure about hemp powder, but I'm pretty sure rice protein in an isolate. Lean and Green
Hemp powder is fine by me. Unless you're some sort of extremist who only wants whole food form fresh produce, I see nothing wrong with a raw food protein powder supplement to add to the diet. I haven't messed with hemp powder in bulk yet but I have been meaning to pick up a 25lb jug and will do so asap. For now I have 75lbs of algae powders (spirulina and chorella) and that's doing the job. As far as the grazing goes, I usually like to juice some grass manually, spill it on the floor and go out to pasture

Lean and Green
Blended with some assorted berries and a small bit of banana is def the best way to go taste wise. However, for convenience, you can just chug it straight up with water. I wouldn't recommend doing that with the chlorella, though, unless you're a veteran with it as chlorella does not taste the best. It has that bluegreen algae seaish taste. Spirulina tastes WAY better. I personally enjoy a 32 oz water and spirulina mixture during my workout and then another afterwards and more throughout the day if possible. belleadonna
I occasionally do hemp protein in smoothies. The brand I buy is raw. I also have barley/wheat grass powder supplement 3X a day. I just mix it with water and chug. It tastes sweet and grassy to me. I don't graze in my yard because my 3 dogs pee on the grass. I am eating 85% raw right now. I eat raw all day and have a small portion of cooked in the evening. I am happy with that right now.
Guest
Just wash the grass off. Lots of animals pee on all the other foods we eat anyway(especially the ones not growing on trees) and its also all fertilized with poop so its no worse. If the dog pees on that spot a lot the greens will be dead so just avoid the dead ones and you'll be fine.
JW
would it make a difference if the dogs are vegan?
belleadonna
Oh, forgot to tell you. We don't have grass anymore because the dogs killed it with their pee!! But we have a nice crop of weeds and my favoritie. MOSS. I love moss. It is so pretty and you don't have to mow it. I have a big garden where I grow herbs and lots of parsley. JW
mmm eating some homemade hummus right now.a bit heavy on the garlic but it keeps too many visitors from my office. My work was putting on its annual foodshow yesterday. (we sell food & supplies to restaurants)pretty painful. It's set up in a sort of maze so you have to go by every booth. There was sooo much meat and cheese!!! Finally, I got to the produce section and was able to get some fruit and salad.Sometimes, I don't know how I can work in a place like this........
