  2. Hi everyone. I'm sorry to post the following photos as they are deeply disturbing and saddening, but this issue really needs attention. Please take a few minutes to let the city of Denver know that this massacre against pit bulls will not be tolerated. http://animalrights.change.org/blog/view/the_killing_of_the_misunderstood_3500_denvers_pit_bull_ban Euthanized pit bulls. Reminiscent of the Holocaust. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34/kellyinfncolo/PitbullHead.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34/kellyinfncolo/Pitbullsdead2-thumb-1411x993.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34/kellyinfncolo/Pit_new3-thumb-1030x747.jpg Here's a sample letter If you'd like to send an e-mail to the mayor of Denver. To: Mayor John W. Hickenlooper [email protected] Picking up a newspaper each day, can be heartbreaking enough, but when I read about all the events happening in Denver, Cincinnati, and Miami, I knew something had to be done. Innocent dogs are being torn from their owners and either put on death-row, senselessly killed, or being shipped far away with the promise from owners they won't return to the area. Not only are Pit Bulls themselves being shipped away and killed, but dogs that LOOK like Pit Bulls. Please stop this ban now, before it is too late. Too many broken hearts have already occurred over this, owners crying over the death of their beloved companions, and dogs never seeing the owners they have come to adore again; all over their breed. Not all Pit Bulls are "trained to be angry and mean", as you will have read in the news article. It's all a matter of how they were trained. Please open your hearts, and sign this petition. After all, if your dogs' breed was suddenly banned, or in danger of being killed off, wouldn't you want to do something to stop it?? Sincerely, The Undersigned
  3. Haha! Nothings fruiting yet but when they are you are welcome!
  4. Thank you for the welcomes! Glad to see another Alabamian on here! I have a ton of different trees; different varieties of persimmons, figs, apples, pomegranates. I also have blackberry bushes, blueberries, raspberries, kiwis, grapes and pineapple plants. 45 trees, bushes, and shrubs in total! I'm hoping to get even more soon. It's a lot of work, but so rewarding!
  5. Hi! I'm no expert, but I think carbs are really important for energy when you're doing hard training. I think what's important from protein are the essential amino acids and you can get all you need from a variety of foods with out really trying. Calorie for calorie, raw greens have more protein than meat and are more usable by the body. Eating a lot of raw fruits and veggies has a lot of usable protein because the protein is raw and not damaged by heating and they've got a lot of carbs your body can use for energy. While you are doing the p90x program I would eat more calories than 1600. I would add lot's of fresh fruit and veggies to whatever you are eating now to get more calories, but that's just me. I've known of a lot of people that do the p90x program while eating a diet of raw fruits and veggies alone without supplementation that got a lot of results and had better recovery than the omnivorous people. They just ignored the omnivorous nutrition recommendations. If your current program is working for you then that's great. Do what feels best for you. Hope this helps
  6. Hi everyone! My name is Kelly. I'm currently living near Birmingham, AL. Moved here this summer. I've been a raw vegan for 7 months, mostly fruitarian with the exception of greens and some veggies. I feel great and I have tons of energy. I've been working on self sustainability and building up a fruit orchard and veggie garden so lately my exercise has been from lifting trees, digging, building, and running around my property. I'm almost done with that and I want to start getting back into a fitness routine with running, cycling, weight lifting, etc. I've also been working on building an online social network for vegans and vegetarians in Alabama. Any locals on here?
