  1. There's a live poll in regards to the scare over the chemical that the Chinese put in the gluten that killed so many dogs and cats and has now been found in chicken and pig feed. Those animals have entered the omnivore's food supply. The poll has an option: "I don't eat meat". I think this is a good chance to show the world our "strength in numbers" and illustrate to food suppliers (restaurants, grocery stores, hospital cafeterias, etc.) that there is a great demand for meatless food. Right now, 6.1% of 13,760 votes are for that option. I know there are a lot more of us out there than 839 vegetarians/vegans. Let's get that number up to 10% or more! Show them that you care what you eat. Please vote at: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18405773/ Thank you. (I have no connection to MSNBC, other than reading it.)
  2. I'm new here but not new to chronic sinus problems. I totally agree about the dairy. I can't even eat something like cornbread that's made with milk or the snot monster attacks me. I've also heard (but not tried) that cutting wheat out of the diet reduces sinus problems. One thing that's helped me a lot is brewing my own kombucha tea. I drink about 16 oz a day and while I still have a bit of drainage problems at times, I haven't gotten an infection in a long time. It's a bit of a complicated process to set up but its a lot cheaper than the commercial varieties. If she lives near a Whole Foods market, she can try the GT Dave and Millenium ones. Then if she thinks it's helping, she can get a scoby from someone on the Original Kombcha Yahoo group.
