Definitely I second those suggestions, Brendan has like 3 thrive books now they are all great and I love his Vega products. 2 other books that I like are Meat is for Pussies and It must have been something I ate.

Sounds like you are off to an outstanding start to your training journal. Brazil! That's on my top places to visit in the world that I haven't been to yet. I'm hoping the lottery for world cup treats me well and that I will be down there in 2014. This forum is so international is dope.

Another P90X person. I think you all should start a new post topic dedicated to discussing P90X as a vegan/vegetarian. Would you be into it?

Nice meal plans, I haven't eaten a date in so long, now I'm craving one! PS- Biglance's cow freaks me out haha.

No posts since the 6th? Don't tell me you fell off? We all need each other on here as motivation so that we can all stick to our goals. It looked like you started so strong too.

Today's workout will consist of jogging to run errands instead of taking the train everywhere all day.

Thanks so much Karen, I am probably going to end up getting some. I'll definitely let you know how it tastes.

Definitely check out the section 12 days of vegan fitness. It's been helping me get back into shape.

Do they make vegan nutella or anyone have a home recipe? This is high priority right now, hahaha.

keep it up seems like we have similar goals. i weigh in around 160 right now (i'm used to being 150) but am not really sure if my goal should be to put on muscle weight, lose fat, or just turn what i have from flab->muscle. i figured i'll just do body weight stuff (pushups and crunches until life settles enough to get back to my gym for squats) and see how i feel.
the food log has already been helping me... it doesn't look so great (tons of chocolate) but i've definitely put *down* some things that i would've eaten otherwise if i wasn't going to write it down later.
anyway, great start and good luck
I feel like I'm in the same boat, same goals, etc as you two also. Good to see what other similar individuals are up to.

Nice, motivated by non-refundable marathon entry. That's a good idea. I should sign up for a sports event or tournament that I have to pay for. That will get me in gear to train for a purpose. I love it, thanks for the idea.

What all do you put in your spinach berry smoothie?

Cool, I've only been on the east coast for like 4 months and I have only been to Philly 1 day and that was before I moved out here. When I go again I will definitely get atcha for restaurant recommendations.

SAD= standard American diet haha love that acronym.

Journal entry mission: get well soon.
I've been 100% vegan the last few days. I promised myself I would be until at least I get over this cold/sore throat.
Vega protein shake with blueberries and bananas.
Lots of water with lemon.
asian citrus veggie meat over quinoa.
almonds, strawberries and blackberries.
Vegan chili.
Light 3 sets of curls, shoulder presses, push ups, and jumping jacks. Paired with my usual dancing around my apartment.
Already starting to feel better.

Yeah unfortunately he may have another meaning than you hhahahah. BUT Take it and use it for good!

yeah, I know what you mean.

Nice, please keep posting about how the P90X training is going. A few others are doing it and a lot of us that aren't doing it are interested. Also your section on sleep is an important reminder. I sometimes forget how important sleep is towards energy levels and fitness progress.

Interesting, too much oil in your diet really has that strong of an effect? How much oil are you talking, and what types?

Do you take glucosamine for your knee/shoulder/joints? Do you know of any food based joint strengtheners?

Good reminder, note to self, pick up some goji berries.

So its Jan 17th, how's your new years resolution holding up. If it you're still actively working at it in any way shape or form you are in the top 10% as far as new years resolutions go Toast to that!

Protein shakes are a good way to make sure you get what you need. Vega makes some great stuff. Its all soy and gluten free. There are other good companies too but that's my favorite. The put some many great ingredients into their products.
Welcome to the site. There are a lot of like minded people on here for support. There are a lot of us that aren't 100% vegan on here as well and we are working on it too
