  1. I use Vegan Complete Meal Replacement from Pure Advantage. It has 26g of Pea and Rice Protein per scoop. It's normally $32.95 per tub, but right now, they're having a buy one/get one sale (ending tomorrow). http://www.purevegan.net.
  2. Oh hooray! It sounds like this story might have a happy ending! Please let us know what the wildlife rehab tells you when you check in.
  3. I'm so glad to belong to a forum where people care this much about their fellow creatures. I don't really have anything to add to what the others have posted. Last fall I had a similar situation with finding a seriously injured bird. I also didn't know what to do, so I started with the police. The police directed me to animal control, who directed me to a nearby wildlife conservancy. It was a process, but at least now I have better idea of what to do in an emergency. And now that you've had this experience, you'll know better what to do next time, too. Try not to be too hard on yourself. I know it's easier said than done. You tried. You put the bird out of harm's way so he could pass in peace. So many others wouldn't have even bothered.
  4. Here's my $.02. There's a shirt out there with a saying on it that goes something like: "Yes, I'm vegan. No, my shoes aren't leather. Yes, I get enough protein. Yes, I have a life." I wish I could wear it all the time. I'm not the most quick-witted person either. I often come up with a great response a week after someone's made a comment to me. But, whenever someone takes a poke at me and asks me if I've checked the ingredients in what I'm eating, I just say, "Yes", give them a confident smile, and leave it at that. All you can do is do your best not to inflict intentional cruelty on animals and other humans, which includes making conscious decisions about what you buy and what you eat. And maybe that's a good response. "I'm not perfect, but I'm doing what I can in the best way I know how." It's hard to come up with something brilliant when you're put on the defensive. I know there are bound to be better responses from other folks here, so I'll hand it over to them. I'll be interested in what they have to say, too.
  5. I'm not sure if it's appropriate to suggest this at this point, but I'll post it in the event anyone wants to take a look at this. I use Pure Advantage Vegan Complete Meal Replacement with Multi-GuarD. (Long title....). You can find it at http://www.purevegan.net and at Vegan Essentials. It has 26g of Pea and Rice Protein per scoop and tons of vitamins and amino acids. It's a light powder and blends super easily - more easily than any other brand I've ever used - and it tastes delicious. I use the vanilla flavor and it's so tasty, you could literally just eat it out of the tub it comes in. (I don't do that, honest. ) It is a bit pricey, though - $32.95 a tub.
  6. You know, this is a really good post and I think it shows what a reasonable person you are -- and that's good! I try to take my cues from folks like you and Robert who seem to have a nice, measured approach to things. I tend to be a little more feisty myself. I chalk it up to being a Leo.

    Hi!

Hi everybody! Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm female, vegan and I love to lift! And I guess that pretty much sums it up... I'm still a newbie to lifting, but I'm planning on starting a journal here tomorrow after my workout. I'm looking forward to talking with you all! Glad I found a site for vegans! That rocks!
