I HATED Shepherd's Pie growing up....prolly cause of the dead cow. Lentil Shepherd's Pie is amazing, however - given you like lentils, peas, carrots and mashed potatoes. Yummy Yummy! (Pardon the lack of Pictures - I will add them to this thread tonight) Lentil Shepherd's Pie 2 tbsp vegetable oil 3/4 cup diced onions 1 clove of garlic, minced 2 tbsp flour 1 1/3 cup veggie broth 1/4 teas. dried thyme 1/8 teas. salt 1/8 teas. pepper 2 cups cooked lentils One 10oz package frozen peas/carrots (or whatever veggies you like - feel free to sub fresh veggies but be sure to "slightly" cook them prior to using) 2 cups mashed potatoes (homemade are obviously BEST but instant ma…

This dose not have the same texture as a baked cheese cake, and it can be a little runny, but it is so good and so easy! 1 container soy cream cheese 1 package van jell-o instant pudding (other flavors would probably be good too!) 1 cup soy milk 1 graham cracker crust (keebler ready crust is vegan) Mix cream cheese, soy milk and pudding mix in food processor. Pour in to crust. Let it chill in the fridge (about an hour). And sliced fruit if desired (I used strawberries). Eat. Easy easy easy. I brought this to a bbq. One of the girls there was not a vegan but she was allergic to dairy. I had to fight her off with a spoon so that I could have a piece.

Consumers were able to keep the standards strict & in place by signing petitions & calling our representatives last time they tried to do this. WE MUST DO THIS AGAIN, or soon our Oragnic standards will mean nothing! Remember, even if you do not buy organics now, there may come a time when you want to do so & will want the standards to mean something. This first link has is a page with congressperson phone numbers. I suggest signing the petition but also calling your congressperson. Info page here Petition page here

Another Picture Guide - though I believe it's relatively self explanatory: Vegan Pancakes 2 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 2 cups soy milk 2 tbsp oil You could be dilligent and mix the dry ingredients and then add the milk and oil. I just throw it all in a bowl and mix it up! Preheat a skillet over medium heat and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Scoop about a 1/2 cup of batter, swirling as you scoop to make a circle. Cook until air bubbles are visible on top of pancake - you should see the bubbles evenly before you flip - otherwise it will cook the other side unevenly. http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/7087/pancakes16ff.jpg Flip panc…

Hello - I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but I am trying to follow BFL and would like to find ways to get protein from non-animal sources for some of my meals. I have spent hours looking for recipes for veg burgers, and home-made protein bars as I think they'd be great to make in quantity and have available as needed. However, I haven't found the perfect recipes. They either don't provide the nutritional composition, or they use too many processed or hard-to-find ingredients. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Marion

Ok, I know it' snot vegan, but I have a very simple recapie for a smoothie... actually I have two. one is vegan. 1) Non-vegan. 8oz of yogart, or 6 oz and some milk. In a blinder blend that with your choice of berries. 2) Vegan ONe fourth of those tofu packages. Blend in a blender (what'da ya know ?!) again with your choice of berries. Simple and pathetic I know, but my mom and I used to have them a couple years ago for breakfast.
