Hey dudes. I got back from Scotland on Friday. I am doing fine, and hope you all survived my absence. I did start to post a little while I was there, but not to the extent that I used to. But now I'm back up in this humpty bumpty I will be a regular poster again. Anyway, here's a rambling summary of my journey and vacation, for those of you who might be interested: I had known a girl online from another forum for about a year or 18 months, but then we'd started talking on MSN and shit, and we got on perfectly, so we decided that I'd go stay with her to see if we could work out a relationship. So that was the reason I went, and that objective is now complete, which…

Anyone from the Portland area interested in buying a brand new still sealed New Chapter Berry Green Powder 360g? I paid over fifty bucks for it but would let it go for $40.00. I don't want to take a total loss nor do I want it to go to waste. It's good stuff but it no longer agrees with me and I didn't find this out until after I ordered a new bottle just prior to finishing off the last one. ba

Has anyone ever heard of the quarterly magazine "Colors"? I found it at my international newstand the other day and it is really cool. Here's the link for anyone interested: www.colorsmagazine.com The summer 2007 edition featured a fictional 2057 totally sustainable land called "Vörland" where climate change refugees can come for safe haven, there's an extinction museum, there are "Istanbul Vebab" (vegetarian kebab) restaurants, people are raw vegans, there are "love" motels where the beds use a technology of generating electricity through movement. "In other words, the more couples bounce around on the mattresses, the more electricity they send circulating through t…

http://www.amconmag.com/article/2006/feb/27/00011/ In California, only three birthdays are official state holidays: Jesus Christ’s, Martin Luther King’s, and Cesar Chavez’s. Beatification as a secular saint, though, isn’t always good for the soul. A recent four-part exposé by reporter Miriam Pawel in the Los Angeles Times revealed how the labor leader turned revered ethnic icon descended into paranoia, megalomania, and general crack-pottery in the 15 years before his death in 1993. Today, his United Farm Workers functions less as a union—it represents only 2 percent of the California agricultural workforce—than as a lucrative Latino-pride fundraising machine providing…

Stay in the Loop! We're all saddened by the departure of Dennis Kucinich from the presidential race, but the issues he so ably championed continue to be crucial for activists to pursue. Please consider signing up for Oregon PeaceWorks' statewide calendar and action alerts. Each week you will receive calendar information about progressive events across Oregon and action alerts relating not only to Oregon PeaceWorks' issues (peace, justice, anti-nuclear and sustainability), but to many other issues as well. It's a great way to stay in the loop. Just send an email to alerts [email protected] with the word "subscribe" in the subject line and we'll take care of th…

Australian Mulesing Lawsuit dropped

Finally...the people who make money off of Australia's cruel wool industry came to their senses and dropped the lawsuit against PETA basically for calling for a boycott. http://www.peta.org/MC/NewsItem.asp?id=9978 I don't like that PETA had to make concessions though but the ones they did make seem fairly minor.

Hello Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness friends, Just letting everyone know that I'm doing a fundraiser for Compassion Over Killing (http://www.cok.net). Check them out. This is the term paper I'm developing for a writing class. It lays out the operation of factory farms and how they're contributing to global warming. Then it argues that even with all of the selfish reasons we have to give up animal products, it's still necessary to assume animals have moral worth. This is just a rough draft... but please read it and let me know what you think. (It's about 12 pages long). http://www.squidoo.com/thestateoftheworld/
