Hello from Korea

Hi everyone! I recently read Robert's book on bodybuilding and thought I'd join this forum! I'm currently living in Korea and have been working out for a couple years, but haven't gained as much muscle as I'd like. I started eating around 3500 calories per day, and exercised a lot, but the food made me sick and I have gained quite a bit of fat in the month or so that I ate so much. I know I should have taken things a bit slower, so I'm starting again from the beginning and am going to post here for motivation and support.

I have always wanted to look more fit, and when I don't see success, I tend to get depressed about it, and then lazy.

Also, I have scoliosis, which, unfortunately, impacts my workout. It doesn't prohibit me from doing a lot of exercises, but the growth of muscle is more apparent on the right side of my body. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Any ways of strengthening my spine?

Welcome !

What do you mean that the growth of muscle is more apparent on the right side? Are you meaning your right arm, or the whole right side?

For strenghtening your spine, you can use some crunches - various types of them, but you should first consult with your doctor if it is safe

Thank you!

My entire right side is more muscular and it's more noticeable. I'm not very muscular at this point, so it isn't AS apparent as it might. My chest is more muscular, my arm, shoulders, back, etc. on my right side. I know that people tend to have more strength on the side they use predominantly, but I know my situation is greater because of the scoliosis. I did yoga for a while and that helped with my spine, but are there any particular exercises?

Perhaps I should post a separate topic for scoliosis....
