Thepetitevegan
Hello! My name is Paulina, I've been vegan for about 3.5 years, newly graduated health coach and a current online student at Cornell's plant based nutrition program with Dr Colin Campbell. I started going to the gym once a week in October 2012, taking a TRX and Kettlebell class, sort of had to force myself to go but now I'm absolutely in love with it. I go twice a week, and i've added a vinyasa yoga class another two days. I'm 4'11 and I weigh anywhere between 95-97 lbs [i don't use the scale] My love for health and fitness has made me reconsider my current job as a hairstylist and become a personal trainer, open my own small gym, and coach people. I'm hoping to do all this before I turn 30 haha. My fitness goal is to lean out, lose some more body fat and have more cuts. Since I'm pretty small I don't want to gain too much muscle mass, just be lean and strong!
stcalico
Hi Paulina and welcome. Females don't have a whole lot of testosterone, so don't fear getting big. I try to lift heavy and am not bulky at all. The big female bodybuilders you see are usually on steroids! You have listed some great goals to work toward. Good Luck! Thepetitevegan
thanks! i definitely keep hearing that! right now when i go to class i use the 20-25lb kettlebells and last time i used 30lb bar for thrusters so i'm still not too strong, but i'm definitely getting there! i want my muscles to show, i'm just assuming theyre not showing right now because i dont use too heavy of weights, my diet is pretty much on point, i eat only whole foods, mostly raw [beans and quinoa are the only cooked things i have]
oldlunk
Wow sounds like a good plan, as I get older I'm realizing that doing something you love for work is more important then money. Unfortunately I'm working for the money. Getting your muscles to show is all about being lean, your muscles are there just got to see them. There's an old saying that's Abs are made in the kitchen. Most bb cut diets are 40/40/20 macros. I just converted to pescatarian-vegatarian and find myself eating a lot of tofu, tempeh, wheat gluten and pea & rice protein powder. Stcalico is right about the test thing the extremely muscled women are all on the juice even some of the fitness competitors they just dont take the dosages as the bodybuilder women. Thepetitevegan
I think I eat pretty good, I typically eat in a day about 1100-1200 calories, sometimes I feel that's too much for me since I am pretty small but I get there without even trying Breakfast: normally a big smoothie, one scoop VegaOne, different fruits usually berries, and water -or- lately I've been trying more protein so I've been eating beans broccoli kale and a little sweet potato Snack: sometimes an apple or a small handful raw nuts depends if I'm hungryLunch: big green salad, kale, spinach, cucumber tomato and for dressing I made a veggie purée with zucchini, beans, carrot and tbsp nutritional yeast Dinner varies because my workouts are usually after work so right before I have a banana and some dates and right after ill have a protein smoothie with vega performance protein and 1-2 bananas. If I don't work out ill have another smaller salad Sometimes I feel like I eat too much, for a few years I had some disordered eating habits and body image issues and would basically have like 500-800 calories so this is a big change for me and my body but I love how I feel
oldlunk
Sounds pretty good, for as much as I weigh people think I dont eat enough but I track my nutrition with a program called dietpower and have found that with my metabolism I dont loose weight unless I'm eating around 1800 cal maintenance around. Breakfast: Shot of wheat grass juice protein shake made with water poured on some kashi go lean or shake and 1/2c oats.snack: protein barlunch: Left over dinner from night before stir fry with tofu, My high protein bean burgers, my reciept high protein veggie pizza 1 slice. snack: protein shake or wheat gluten type food.Dinner: one of the above Snack: protein shack piece of fruit
