exercises for inner chest?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Are there any exercises for the inner chest (not sure if that is the correct technical term) that don't require a machine? Do pullups or chinups work the inner chest, and if so, which grip position? And is there a particular hand position for pushups that would help?

Thanks,

Joel

I too don't think you can isolate parts of your chest(meaning upper, lower, mid pectorals)...you can only make your dealts or triceps do more instead...I do however believe you can widen or thicken your chest...I think wide bench and regular bench press can widen your chest ...as for thickening I think cable crossovers and dumbells can do the trick...I never had a wide chest but my chest seemed to be unproportionally thick, I think because I never really bench pressed and focused on dumbell presses and cable crosses.

You can isolate lower/upper chest, but not inner/outer.

You need to build chest mass in general. Best work the chest with heavy weights, relative high volume and include stretch exercises like flies or static flies (hold at the very bottom, like loaded stretching).
