The best RAW books?

Recommended Posts

Almost forgot to mention,

World Fusion Cookbook by blossoming lotus has some really good raw stuff too. about 50% of the book is raw.

http://www.blpdx.com

i'd say 25% of the book.. i have that book, and there's way more cooked food.. but still, this book is great!! they have all kinds of fancy, complicated, unique recipes.. they're all vegan ( of course )..

I'm reading this one right now : The Live Food Factor: A Comprehensive Guide to the Ultimate Diet for Body, Mind, Spirit & Planet [Paperback]

By: Susan E. Schenck

I like it because it's by someone who was a sceptic about it, and needed more scientific info, and it contains a lot of references. Lots of info.

The book that scared me the most about raw foods/made me

extremely intimidated by the lifestyle was:

RAW: The Uncookbook -by Juliano

(definitely not the best choice for someone's first raw experience.)

The book that made me feel comfortable with raw foods,

the transition, the lifestyle, and made it seem effortless to me was:

The Raw Truth -by Jeremy A. Safron

(amazing book! it explains everything, and has incredibly delicious,

simple, not-two-pages-long-worth of ingredients.. recipes!)

My favorites currently are:

Eating in the Raw -by Carol Alt

The Raw Detox Diet -by Natalia Rose

The Raw Food Resource guide -by Jeremy Safron,

(any book by him is brilliant)

There are many others, but that's what I can think of for now...

I love all of Victoria Boutenko's books because she's really honest and does her research, and she lives in Ashland! Her whole family has been 100% raw for 14+ years....

Also Gabriel Cousens has some interesting information.

Carol Alt, Alissa Cohen and Roe Gallo are all really vibrant and inspiring.

Raw Spirit has an interview with Fred Bisci, who's been raw for more than 40 years, so I think he's a good resource.

I own a lot more than this but can't think of them all right now!
