I think we'll get a whole car-load of people to make the trip up, or maybe even multiple car-loads and we'll do a gathering in Seattle soon Thanks for being such a big part of our community! I welcome a huge meetup in Seattle. And, whenever there's another big one in Portland I'll fill up my tiny biodiesel car with people from Seattle to go down there. It'd be great to do a meet up! I'd appreciate yr suggestions of stuff to do & see, etc while we're up there - particularly free/cheap options. Ps. The easy way to get here on foot is to take the Victoria Clipper. But if you're driving I think you can take the washinton state ferry or you can drive into Vancouver and take the BC ferries. I definitely enjoy hiking - with the crew I'll be coming up with & our time limitations, we'll need to stick to shorter, easier, close-in hikes. A great hike that's not far outside the city is Tiger Mountain (in Issaquah). That's a fairly challenging hike, however. I want to make it to Portland as often as I can as well. I love Portland.
