  1. that's right, i'm HUGE. just kidding. i'm more into body whittling endurance events. been meaning to join for a while now... cool stuff!

Dude your fuckin MASSIVE, you should get onstage with Coleman and blow his ass off the freakin stage with those 23 inch pythons, haha.

Im just playin man, i look like shit too

  2. Sorry Shawn

Wasn't sure what you were getting at; should of given you the benefit of a doubt. Written communication leaves something to be desired.

And no. I'm not suggesting dental problems won't develop with low-fat raw vegans. I have never seen a complaint about carries or cavities in the user group I belong to for this diet. One member has been on it for 25 plus years. Guess I'm sensitive about comparing fruit sugar packed in naturally filtered water and gentle soluble fiber, loaded with vitamins and antioxidants and phytochemicals, to "sugar" like in candy bars or bags of cane sugar. They're night and day different. Not to mention, only sugar can be oxidized for energy by humans. Anything we eat that eventually gets burned is converted to sugar by the body. Also, dehydrated foods like raisins are widely considered to be the worst for your teeth because they're so sticky (and cooking is a type of dehydration usually.). Truly raw food still has its water and is not sticky.

Sugar has a bad rap in some ways, maybe because its often associated with junk food. Many people are surprised to learn that this high "sugar" diet is very effective at treating and reversing T2 diabetes. So the sugar issue is actually pretty nuanced, like many things.

No prob man, understand about the computer jargon.

Yeah i was eating any junk food, only organic fruits and vegetables (cooked also). Maybe it was all the shit my body was detoxifying, or something like that, lol. I dunno. I just know it went away when I added some legumes and grains in there.

  3. Teeth for older people are largely a matter of their child hood. Middle class kids go to dentists regularly and get braces. Working class kids often don't get dental care. I have the money now to get braces, but really, I'm not that vain. Never had any trouble with my teeth on this diet. In fact, this diet is great for ALL aspects of hygiene.

So Shawn, why don't you post your pic up here and tell us about how many hours a week you bust your butt in the gym and doing aerobics. And about your mystery diet. And even if you are half way fit, we can stick around for the next 30 years (your obviously young) and see what you look like at my age. Yeh right.

Well I was givin ya a compliment on the pic man! Either way, Ill have to check out that book for sure.

Pics, if i get one, ill post one day

A diet based on raw fruit and greens already has the right balance of fats. If you eat right, you won't need any supplements except maybe some occasional B12.

As long as you eat grains and starches, your going to have micronutrient uptake problems. Our intestines are very sensitive and are not designed to eat insoluble fiber (like in whole grains.) These fibers have microscopically sharp ends and edges that literally scrape your intestines-which is why "fiber" causes a bowel movement...its the body's gag response trying to expel the offending substance. To protect itself from the scraping, the body generates mucus along the intestines which shield the sharp fibers but also reduce your ability to absorb nutrients.

yeah the proof is in the pic there, good job. i had teeth problem, which i never did before, when i just ate alot fruits vegetables with nothing else. thought it was the excess sugar and lack of protein in my diet?

  5. What do y'all think about this. Done quite abit of research on it over the years and it makes sense to me, with the nitrosilides, etc. Especially since FDA, AMA, all those people, supress this makes me believe in it more, to fund our so called war on cancer..haha, yeah right.. chemo's so much cheaper than fruit kernels

  6. I am a vegetarian but not vegan. I do eat fish though. I am 6'1", 180 lbs, 22 years old. I want to bulk up but lose some of my fat I have.

I promise to stick to it if you take the time to help me...Thanks!

    Heybrett,

you asked the same exact question, same words too,lol.. over at another "vegetarian" forum couple weeks ago, and they explained eating fish is not vegetarian, after you got a big rise outa the few fanatics there with you saying Jesus ate fish and there making fun of him. Hey man, I love Jesus! But this is a nutrition question.

Im also one of the only ones that took you serious and tried to help, with writing out a diet for ya. Are you trollin man? How old are you, are you having fun, lol?

The people over here seem like good peeps and very welcoming, so dont mess with em, if thats what your doing. There also mostly Vegan, so I really dont understand why you wouldnt be better researching bodybuilding nutrition for a couple days, and youll find what you need pronto. Stick to what the old schoolers did since you incorporate milk, eggs, and fish in your diet. Its pretty simple and basic and Im the only one who detailed that to you.

    good luck man

  7. This is a good thread, because I feel the situation here for sure, as Im going through similiar, mainly with feeling satisfied with my meals. I have excepted the weight loss from cleaning up my diet, as the days of being young and buff are not a priority for me these days.

My honest experience, when i ate my former diet, it was cheaper for sure (average 7 bucks a day some years ago as prices have went up), and it was wayy more convenient for sure. Average day... foreman grill a beef patty in 4 minutes one or 2 times day with couple quick microed red potatoes, protein drinks with milk&eggs some fruit and PB, cottage cheese with can tuna, some whole grain toast and a quick salad once in awhile in an average days menu.

Ok, it wasnt the healthiest diet out there, but it worked for me, gaining good muscle weight for sure. I was training hard, and i never spent anytime in the kitchen, which i didnt want to do, maybe 15 to 20 minutes a day, max. and I was completely satisfied in my tummy most of the time , when i wasnt eating pizza or chinese, shhhhhhh

Now...fast forward abit, produce in California (especially L.A.) is expensive, as now I eat alot of it now! Stuff I never ate before, which I wish i did! Organic red peppers, romaine, tomatoes, avocados etc, i buy it all the time ,and my food bill is at least double for sure. I really have to eat alot olive oil heavy foods to be satisfied with alot of my main meals, mass amounts of beans (which thank God my GF can tolerate for now, errrr) in a homemade bean soup or chili. I spend at least 2 hours a day in the kitchen preparing the meals now, with all the chopping, washing, peeling, cooking brown rice, trying to make something that taste good and Vegan, and healthy always. Im no Chef Boy-r-Dee, even though my GF loves my cooking, why, lol?

Anyway, I feel the situation here, and dont want to come off negative for sure here. But now, as you know, I still eat dairy and eggs, for there convenience, and for there taste too. I lose alot weight when I cut them out completely, even after 2 weeks its like I shrivel. I am sure I can do it with strictly Vegan foods, but it would take hell alot discipline, and getting used to being satisfied with those foods all the time. I understand the dilemna here, and its a big one, especially for the young guys who are busy, and just wanna..BE BIG!

Mannnn..its a tough road for sure, especially being a Vegan! Props to you guys, and gals, who wanna be ripped...and BIG!

After reviewing my post (which im gonna quote), I hope it doesnt sound negative. Last thing I want to do is sound pro-meat, cause I am surely not. Im just honestly relating my real experience with this, with it all. Im here to learn, and respect the "Vegan Way" for sure, as It must be closer to God in my handbook to eat grains rather than animals, which im tryin to get to these days.

But, I feel the struggle of the "skinny syndrome", for a young guy especially, it can be the worst enemy for someone training. I wish I knew what I knew now though, and just worked out only for myself back then, whether I was 250 pounds or 150 pounds, as long as health, ethics, and happiness took first priority in my training... It would have been alright, no matter how much I could curl, squat or the shirt sizes I wanted to increase.

Bless Always to A More Happy Peaceful Way of Life

  11. Hello

Ive also wondered about the bloodtype thing sometime ago. But it seems there plenty people here who look good/ feel good being Vegan. So I cant see how eating meat would make them feel/ look better, mentally or physically.

Its like saying we all need exactly, 30% protein, 40% carbs, and 30% fats (The Zone). Its a good place to start I think, but everybody is different in the P/C/F ratios that they need, in my opinion.

Also, Im wondering on the bloodtype diet, if its just the people eating simpler foods that work better together, and there digestion gets better, therefore, improved energy, etc. After all, most regular people eat alot of all types of foods cause there easily available.. fatty meat, cheese, potatoes, veggies last if any, and then dessert, all in one dinner. They might even eat breakfast and lunch similiar. Lets not exclude the junk either like those chips and soda with that sandwich at lunch they might have, lol.

Anyway..I never knew anyone who followed the bloodtype diet though. Interesting I guess, but sounds complicated to me, but im no rocket scientist either.

  12. Wow, some of these diets are alot real freakin food!

    My question would be..

The amount of fiber in a vegan diet. I cant imagine taking in 4 to 6 thousand calories a day of just plant foods, especially if your weighing under 200 pounds. Do you have to get use to this many fiber rich foods (how much fiber is it anyway). I was able to hit the over 5000 mark many years ago when I was drinking milk , eating red meat, and sometimes using refined sugars (like soda) when I couldnt get enough calories from food. But thats not a diet im recommending to anyone for sure, LOL!

  13. And Im sure a more Happy Peaceful Land....

Name is Shawn and I have been seriously thinking of becoming a Vegan, for various reasons, but am confused on a few things. My girlfriend is a vegetarian, and alternates that with being Vegan as she prefers that for sure, as she really trys hard to cuts the cheese out she puts on her burritto once in awhile, hey she mexican, lol. But seriously, she shares the same views as I do on cruelty of animals, how there treated, and how they are sickly and not ideal for human consumption.

Me personally, I use to eat a ton of meat, not cause I wanted too all the time, but was misguided for sure. When I was younger in my teens and some time after, the heroes were Arnold and the big boys of bodybuilding. Well if anybody here ever read the Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding (this is before the internet guys, try and understand) , you would know what type of diet I was following in there, and worse! Because you could add the typical Burger King Pizza Hut Chinese Spareribs (i worked at all 3 at the time) and Coca Cola American crap diet in there at least a few times week all in the quest to try to gain weight and get big naturally, without the steroids, cause I was always a skinny ffff.

I was also trying to emulate the stupid freakin diets the guys were following in the muscle mags then (hey thats all we had then), haha. I remember one of the great diets i tried to follow was to eat a pound of a whole pound of steak, yeah 16 oz per meal, 5 times per day along with 2 dozen whole eggs for the first 2 meals,lol.. think it was called "The Mass Diet"! Should have been called "The Death Diet" and they didnt print the smallprint which said, only works when your on the roids, a genetic freak, then death will follow shortly after before your 40 with several heartattacks and/or strokes.

So basically, I have had alot health problems these days as you could imagine,lol.. as it has caught up a lil bit, as im still in my early 30s. All the bulk weight is gone now. Im back down to my high school wrestling weight of about 170 pounds on a good day, from 220 a few years ago I was holding. 220 of bloated PBR beer weight I mind you, as I usually carried around 200 pounds pretty solid and strong when i was training seriously.. which wasnt bad for a kid who started off at 140 skinny at 6 feet tall and hyper as hell working out 4 to 6 hours a day in weights and kickboxing everyday.

So.. I am starting to take my health very seriously these days, cause its definitly not taking care of me. This past year Ive followed vegetarian mostly, and know that is has been better for me for sure,I could breathe better number one and chest pains have gone mostly. I know the government corporate america, whatever there called, does not care about making healthy food regularily and cheaply available to the masses. And if does become healthy, it becomes a fad, 100 different books are written on it the same week, then the price of olive, canola oil, or whatever super food there writing about skyrockets and i cant afford it no more. Better to keep most of the real misguided cattle sick, so the "doctors" and "hospitals" can keep there offices and prescriptions filled... and the typical happy meal centers we produce most spend there lunches at with there kids.. filthy rich.

Anyways, just a little background there, hopefully not too much for ya, haha.

I have alot questions though. My main first question for right now would be, are concerning raw dairy made from grass fed animals as my girlfriend wants to use that also for the little amount of dairy she does eat in her diet. As for some time I was considering eating the grass fed beef, because the animal was not suppose to be tortured, i know, i know, its still killed, and thats the point. But do you guys know how raw dairy grass fed cattle are treated, the one that are suppose to be grass fed and roam free? And what about fertile eggs made from cage free chickens? Are they tortured too, or are they free to live a normal life. I know Bill Pearl eats this way, and I want to make the transition as painless as possible and enjoy my life if i can doing it, as im not rich, and dont want to fuss too much in the kitchen either trying to make something good as it will just frustrate me and make me wanna slap 2 slices cheese on some whole grain bread with tomato and mayo and go to sleep. And im not down with alot of these easy to cook "soy" products in the stores (my GF works in a good health food store), as Ive read there altered and not in there natural state (my biggest thing concerning diet). Ide rather eat black beans and rice instead of soymilk or soybread or soy chicken, even though some of them taste pretty damn good!

This is going to be a tough transition for sure guys, but I think Im heading in the right direction for starters. I know i wont go back to eating meat, fish though, and thats a big thing for me. Im tryin. Bear with me if ya can.

    Thanks, God Bless
