  1. Breakfast: Ezekiel Whole Grain Sprouted Cereal 2 Tbsp. Ground Flaxseed Almond Milk Apple Snacks/Pre-workout: Banana Protein Shake Post Workout: Protein Shake Lunch: 3/4 Cup Brown Rice 1-2 Cups of Veggies Snacks: 1 Slice Wheat Bread 1 TBSP Peanut Butter Dinner: Almonds 1-2 Cups of Veggies OR 200g beans My sources of protein are also plants/beans/legumes which.. as we know, all contain carbs. so as protein goes up, so do my carbs. (the wheat bread, the whole grain cereal, beans, veggies, brown rice, lentils) I'm also trying to cut out soy, so I hope tofu doesn't become an option for me. I also have no access to seitan or meat substitutes. Trying to keep a minimally processed diet as much as possible. Am I eating too much carbs for my cutting? Any suggestions? I have difficulty in getting protein because 1) i cut out soy 2) no meat subs/seitan 3) all protein sources contain MORE carbs
  2. Cheers for the suggestions guys! Will see them out
  3. Has anybody heard of Calisthenics? Body exercises that rely on your body weight. Can anybody recommend any good books or sample programs that I can use? Hopefully something that doesn't involve inverted handstand pushups and are much beginner-friendly.
  4. Hi guys! So I've been itching to get my hands on Vega products, but I need your opinions on the ff: What are the products from Vega I should get that are good preworkout and postworkout shakes? Hopefully it aids in weightloss too. Secondly, where can I buy Vega products? I've got an aunt going to Canada and does anyone know where I can get Vega the cheapest at Canada? I also heard there was a knockoff of Vega for twice the amount for the price of 1 Vega.. I'd like to know what that brand is and if anyone knows where to buy that product as well?
  5. Hm, just so I don't start a new thread.. What Multivitamins do you guys take, and how much is necessary? General multivit + Calcium (how many mg tablet? how often?) + Vit B12 (mg? tablet? how often?) and Iron? I never really bothered with this until I read an article a few days ago on how important vitamins were for us. I figured it was what explained my recent tiredness/sleepiness lately.
  6. Yeah, I've got the book already. But can anyone apply the book to us Vegans? It's difficult to eat that amount of calories.
  7. I've actually heard some great stuff about the book, and about 99% seem to find them to work. Just wondering if the cutting works with the bulking together? I do want to use protein powders, and I'm mainly looking for a preworkout and a post workout protein (preferably one with complete nutrients too?) and I really have no idea on protein powders and their traits (amino acids? gemma? all foreign to me..) Basically what I can have regularly are wheat bread, brown rice, vegetables, fruits, and tofu. Not so much tempeh, seitan, or other soy products.
  8. Wow, vegan essentials indeed! Thanks for the tip, mate!! I'll have to check for sure Got any suggestions as to what protein powders are a good start (and a bargain!)?
  9. Hi! Has anyone heard of Lou Schuler's book, New Rules of Lifting For Women? I'm just about to start on the program, but I'm having difficulty planning out my meals at the moment (add a Vegan twist to it), and according to the book I should be eating about 2000+ calories (5'6", 160lbs) when I'm on the program. Personally I only eat around 1400-1600/day and on the days I exceed 1600, it's very very easy for me to gain weight. I don't have any sources of Vegan-friendly protein powders or soy yogurt since I'm not from North America or Europe, so I don't have access to those. Vega doesn't ship outside US and Canada too Anyone suggest how I can plan my meals? I'm looking to lose A LOT of body fat through NROLFW. Should I jump straight in or should I go for a major cutting phase first? Thanks!
  10. Hey everyone! I'm Elle, 19 from the Philippines. I've been vegetarian for quite some time now, and I've decided to go vegan just recently. At this moment, it's difficult enough for me to get a big, big source of protein (unless I ingest on wheat and nuts) so I'm really finding it difficult to cut out Greek yogurt (the only animal-based product I ingest) and it's driving me crazy! I've decided to join the site, not only to find new friends, but also to improve my knowledge on bodybuilding. I'm still in my cutting phase, and I hope to meet some of you soon enough (and make friends out of yous.) Cheers xx
