What are your top 5 favourite fruits of all time?

Recommended Posts

Inspired by raw ambition's recent thread, if you could only eat 5 fruits for the rest of your life, which would you choose:

For me, not necessarily in this order:

1. Cherries

2. Blueberries

3. Pineapples

4. Pomegranite/passion fruit

5. Pink Grapefruits

6. GREEN apples or crab apples (okay i cheated that is 6).

I am not too keen on the other fruits, and I absolutely am NOT keen on bananas , red apples (boring!), and plums (especially if they are mushy and over ripe).

3. bananas (I love them in smoothies)

4. Raspberries

5. blueberries

6. kiwi

7. oranges

used to love pineapple, but now I find it too acidic for some reason.

1. Cactus figs. In season (when they're from Spain) my wallet actually bleeds.

2. Pineapples. Eat some every day. Never get bored.

3. Persimon. Again the Spanish ones are best allthough Israelis are very good too.

4. Mangoes. They get little lower ranking because you have to eat themm over the sinnk and the fibres stick in between your teeth.

5. Passion fruit. When they are really sweet.

6. Water melon.

And I love berries. But they are not fruit. They're berries. Focus CG, focus

"Nature's candy": I often use that expression! I think I heard it first on The Simpsons! The greatest show ever? Okay that's for another thread.

Here's my top 6:

1. Mangoes/Mangos - both correct, veggymeggy : )

2. Bananas (just awesome: the ergonomics, the colour-ripeness signalisation system...okay I'm making up words here)

3. Strawberries

4. Tomatoes

5. Avocados

6. Olives

A salad of tomatoes, avocados, and olives, with a good helping of pine nuts sprinkled on top, followed by a mango/banana/strawberry smoothie is one of my all-time favourite meals!

3.-Clementines (at least 1 daily)

4.-Pineapple (at least 4 times a week)

5.-Banana (at least 4 times a week)

6.-Watermelon (only when they're in season)

7.-Melon (not very often)

8.-Pomegranate (only when they're in season)

Reading the question, I'm inspired to answer two different ways:

If money were no object (fresh of course, not frozen or dried):

1. Goji berries

2. Bilberries

3. Passionfruit

4. Mangosteen

5. Muscadine grapes

From a taste standpoint:

1. Passionfruit

2. Pomegrante

3. Gold Kiwi

4. Pink Lady Apples

5. Raspberries

I always think of tomatoes as veggies!

Oddly enough, botanically speaking a tomato is a berry, and raspberries aren't even berries at all (!)
