rubber_ritchie
Hi guys I am very new to body building but I am mega inspired by meeting some of you vegan super heroes that are out there. I love the idea of the image of vegans being strong, powerful looking people and others following on that basis. Its a new way to animal liberation. If anybody wants tips on flexibility, please drop me a line. You can see a show I did in Korea recently here http://www.flexinthecity.com/videos.html

Crystal
Welcome . I loved the video, even though I couldn't hear it . Looks like you had a great time there (and do you really brush your teeth with one foot behind your head ?). My favorite part was the old man trying to put his foot behind his head . . . actually, he did better than I did just now . You look super strong, too . The push-ups you do look tough! rubber_ritchie
Hi Crystal, Thanks, yes the old guy copying me was funny. He was drunk. Actually there is a Korean custom where you pour older people a drink and then you let them pour you one. I had to be poured one even though I don't drink. They didn't mind me giving it away. I just had to be served! Yes, i've got really strong in my upperbody doing really weird push ups daily for 3 years like in the video. Since the last 2 months of lifting weights I can do them more easily. I'm trying to build more strength and muscle. An old guy said to me recently after a show. "You're really strong ...even though you've got no muscle." It's great when people compiment my strength and I always truthfully say "The vegan diet is my secret." Richard
Ay Ritchie. My name's Richard too, that means I kick ass. I'd like to know something about joints. I am pretty flexible (can get my feet behind my head) and do various martial artsy type things, but recently my knees have start to hurt and feel uncomfortable. I am thinking of going to see a specialist, but maybe you'd have some idea of what I could do? My dad (who is a doctor) said he thinks it's the tendons / ligaments, rather than a bone/joint problem. Odidnetne
Welcome aboard. That's quite a trick you got there with the flexibility, maybe I could drop you a line about tips for gymnastic related stuff? You're absolutely right, it is awesome to imagine a vegan as someone big and strong. Most people say they'd never guess I was a vegan when they meet me or see me for the first time, and I'm only about 180 lbs (6 feet tall).
