Are You A Vegetarian? Poll on ND

"Today's Poll" of October 2nd on Nutritiondata.com, "Are you a vegetarian (even some of the time)?"

I know there's a lot of vegetarians and vegans who visit this website because, in general, vegetarians and vegans are more involved in health and nutrition than most meat-eaters, but still, I was surprised to see that much vegans and vegetarians :

strict vegans: 7,6%

strict vegetarians: 14,8%

Eventhough I know it's not very accurate, perhaps many of those are not so "strict".

So anyway, go vote if you want, it can show there's many vegans out there, and write your reasons! I wrote:

"No meat for me! and no fish or other corpses and carcasses! Animals need their bodies more than I do."

I've never heard of the term strict vegan. I thought a strict vegetarian was a dietary vegan.

Vegan diets (sometimes called strict or pure vegetarian diets)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veganism

I don't eat animal products so what am I?

I don't know acctually. And I hate that there is no clear defenition because how are restaurants and friends supposed to know what we eat?

I usually call myself strict vegan since people who eat honey, animal derrived vitamin-d and wear wool started using the term vegan for themselves.

But sheep have to be sheared. It doesnt hurt them?

If its done industrially, I am sure there will be mistreatment, but I thought wool, which is rarely used compared to the common cotton, is done on a farm level.

If we are going to be caring about wool, because of the sheep, I guess we should be caring about the appaling conditions people work in making cotton.
