Societal expectations for beauty & feminity: body hair

How do vegan fitness people feel about women who don't shave where women are "expected" to shave? Most women grow hair on their legs and underarms, but in a lot of societies we "need" to remove it.

 

Spring is coming again, is it time to start waxing/shaving/electrocuting those hair follicles?

 

What kind of reactions have women who don't remove their body hair gotten?

This is an area where I'm a slave to cultural values. Armpit or leg hair is a huge turnoff for me, but for no logical reason other than societal influence.

I personally don't care about it, it's just hair. I think it's a terrible shame that female bodily hair has become socially unacceptable, it's crazy. But if someone wants to shave it off, then I am fine with it, either way, I don't care.

I would really, really like it to be otherwise, but it's not.

I've never tried going against cultural norms with this one. But I draw the line at waxing my pubic hair - that is way too much pain for me.

I actually prefer women with armpit hair. Leg hair I could do without, but doesn't phase me either way.

I respect the political reasons women don't shave. I also respect the issue of convenience. Still, my preference is strongly towards women who shave. I wouldn't think any less of a woman who did not shave. I might be interested in a friendship, but it would be a deal breaker as far as dating goes.
