Rob Bigwood
Hi everyone I want to introduce myself. My name is Rob Bigwood and I am a 26 year old vegan professional arm wrestler. I have been a vegetarian for two years and a vegan almost a year now. New York Armwrestling Inc. hosted an arm wrestling event a few weeks ago at the NY Auto Show. It was my first tournament in over two years and also as a vegan. I ended up taking second place both arms (I only trained for 3 months). There is a few more tournaments coming up that I plan on attending. You can see the teaser video here... and some other matches... endcruelty
vegan professional arm wrestler hahaha that's wicked. never knew arm wrestling was pro, though i'm not surprised really. quite cool that it has a vegan face to it also i wonder if phycologically you mind fuck your opponent getting them to think you're a "typical weak vegan" ... then ..... BLAM...... "you lose bitch"
Fallen_Horse
Hey I have seen some of your vids. Great work! I checked around on your blog but didn't see much about your training. What kinds of exercises do you do? Low rep and heavy load or medium rep medium load? 5x5, etc.?
Rob Bigwood
Ha. I don't mind fuck anyone, I'm too nice a guy. All of the pro's know who I am and I have a "big name." Maybe people in the crowd might think its crazy that I rock out a PETA shirt?? As far as training. The best thing is to actually get table time - meaning ARMWRESTLE. Its soooo hard to hit those angles with weights and etc. I do pull on cables and garage springs but hardly lift weights. I do isometric pull ups, fat grip pull downs. Heavy and light weight.. whatever kind of mood I am in that day. There is no real science behind it. Hand and wrist play a HUGE part also.
