robert
Hey Everyone, We've had this NEW site going for a couple of months but I didn't really tell anyone about it until we got our NEW Professionally Replicated DVDs of Vegan Fitness Built Naturally in. They are finally in! So, please check out our NEW website www.veganfitnessteam.com We're still working on the site, my main man who put it together has been on vacation for a while I'm sure you can guess who the very talented artist is. He did an awesome job with the site, and it will be even better soon because I'll have plenty of new updates and features to add ot it. So, if you ordered the movie a while ago and needed a NEW replicated copy, please let me know. I've sent a bunch out, so it could be on its way or perhaps has already arrived, but just PM me to check status or to remind me you need an updated version. There are so many to keep track of, and I have a pretty good list of which people needed a replacement DVD, but I don't want to miss anyone. www.veganfitnessteam.com tell your friends
Kathryn
I just checked it out. Looks like a good start. A couple of suggestions, from a persnickity language person (I teach language): I found the use of the term "actors" rather strange and the use of "movie" for the project a bit not quite right as well. You and Brian and Tonya aren't really "actors" (people who pretend to be what they aren't for the entertainment of others) in a "movie," IMO. I'd say "cast" in a "film/documentary/DVD." Hope you don't take any offense at this suggestion, just trying to stand up for the English language (though my specialty is French!)

I agree with what Kathryn said. Actors makes you guys sound phony in a way. You guys are the real deal, so why not call yourselves the cast and your video a documentary! Sounds way better. robert
Cool, thanks I haven't looked at the site much in a while (we made it several months ago, but NEW DVDs just arrived so we released it). I appreciate the feedback.
crashnburn
If the goal is to promote this out to get more visibility and hits I'd say make sure it gets high Google Page Ranking. The site designer can do that with some research.
jonathan
The site is a bit cheesy for my taste Rob. As you know I'm not a fan of celebrity culture, and this sort of smacks of this to me. Plus the Vegan Fitness association still bugs me - the VF meet-up we just had here in Edinburgh is somewhat different in 'flavour' to the movie, and it just doesn't sit well Jonathan
Tarz
Plus the Vegan Fitness association still bugs me Why, when Rob's site is called Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness? So what would you call the DVD instead?

You helped me look at the website and video in anouther light. There had been something bothering me and now I know what it is. Personally, I believe in vegans (everybody really) working to get stronger, healthier, etc - but dont really care for being overly competitive, professional sports, celebrity culture, commercialism etc. What I strongly prefer is people striving to be their personal best, having a community of supportive like-minded folks, and working to build a culture/movement around those values. I found the photo's, etc from the Edinburgh meet-up to be really inspiring and would love to see more of a community of folks like that here. Robertand I have been discussing this. If you have any thoughts or suggestions from your experience, I'd love to hear them! All in all, I think it's a good video - I think that it will be a valuable tool for reaching many folks. I can also understand Robert & the others wanting to promote themselves and their businesses through the website.

It was 1 1/2 years in the making, was expensive (especially for me) and it was made from the heart, as people can tell by watching it. I think it is also a great tool to promote veganism and vegan fitness on a level that can't always be reached through other methods. You don't have the like the project, and I know not everyone will, but it is a great tool and is changing lives and saving lives everyday. That is the goal, whether the official documentary website looks "cheesy" or not to you or anyone else. I think the site looks pretty awesome and it was created by one of our forum members who spent some good time on it. Feel free to watch the movie sometime. Celebrity culture isn't for everyone, but it can have a great impact when targeted the right way. Thanks for the feedback man. I'm sure we'll chat soon. Bigbwii
I checked out the site and I think it's great. I've not had a chance to see the movie but regardless of that, I can totally respect the fact that at the end of the day Roberts intentions are sincere and that creating something from nothing yet at the same time trying to make it appealing so it reaches the most people is an extremely hard thing to do. So major respect and appreciation to who ever designed the website and to Robert for being a legend in promoting veganism in so many ways. It never ceases to amaze me as to how many people know and respect you!!!!...and I see your photo's every where and people are always bragging on you!!! So major props for being out there.... walking the walk and talking the talk!!! Keep doing wotcha doing ma boy!!!!
robert
Thanks Sea and Big, I appreciate it. I really do spend nearly all my time promoting this lifestyle. I use my name/image as a tool to promote veganism because it works. It has been the most effective method for me over the past 11 years I've been vegan so that is what I continue to do. Some like it, some don't, but there is a greater cause for it, and it is to save lives, bottom line. I just did a radio show a couple of days ago about the Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness lifestyle and some things going on in my community like our vegan potlucks we're doing, and I stressed that fact that most importantly non-vegans are welcome. What are we doing if we're not including the people we're trying to have a positive impact on? I stressed the fact that we're not a cult group with a set of rules and a mission to convert everyone, but that we're a group of compassionate people who live a a sustainable lifestyle and we care about the environment, which is why we try to reach others who can benefit from our leadership. I welcome non-vegans to the forum all the time, as well as with my potlucks or other things. That is who I'm trying to reach. And with the movie, it is targeted towards vegans who may not be living the most healthy lifesyle, so they can learn to be better role models for veganism, leaving a better impression on non-vegans. And of course, it is targeted to anyone interested in improving their health and the sustainability of our planet. Lastly, I appreciate the support. I was doing this alone 5 years ago, and then Robbie Hazeley from the UK contacted me in 2001 after seeing me in FLEX magazine promoting Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness and ever since then there have been so many of you helping get our message out. Our movie is just another avenue to help change the world one person at a time. There are lots of websites, books, forums, videos, CDs, etc. out there. This is just something new and it is already making a nice impact on the communities it reaches. Thanks again. -Rob
loveliberate
Robert, I definitely appreciate the work that you are doing and believe that it will do a lot of good by helping new folks become vegan or at least more accepting of vegans. One approach or style wont work for everyone and your way will appeal to folks who haven't been reached yet. As the example goes - If McDonald's went vegan tomorrow I still wouldn't eat there for other reasons but just think of all the harm to animals lives, human health and the environment that would be stopped! Ps. The Veganism button on your VFT page isn't working. Also, there were no pink thong photo's to be found...
CollegeB
Rob I think the site looks good. And also a vegan fast food place that was international (like McD's) would be much appreciated by me.
compassionategirl
Rob, quite plainly and simply, you are an inspiration and a virtually impeccable representative of veganism and all it means. Actually, you are virtually an impeccable representation of all it should mean to be human, never mind vegan!! You rock. Always have, always will. And the animals are damn lucky to have you. I dont think you have ever for even one moment been anything but a valuable friend to them and a valuable asset to their cause. I know these are general comments and dont really address the website, but they remain true nevertheless. I havent checked out the site yet really.
