Flanders77...Lactovegetarian is somone who is basically vegan but they eat dairy.

there is also LactoOvo vegtarian, a Vegetarian who eats eggs and dairy. I think there is even Ovo Vegetarian.... A vegan who eats eggs.

  2. Welcome Bodhi!

I have lived in Eugene also...it is a town I like pretty well.

I am interested in visiting Costa Rica! Are you glad you moved there, now that you are there? How were you able to become a resident? Was it easy?

  3. Would someone mail me some veganaise to Costa Rica???

I was always really big on mayo, and I miss it a LOT

Or, you could fly me to Costa Rica and I will bring you a case of it!

No really, are you serious? It is good stuff. I actually always hated mayo but I love veganaise!

  4. I still have one of my baby teeth.

I don't mean I have it tucked away in a drawer somewhere all creepy-style either, I mean it's still in my mouth and attached to my jaw.

I always keep the ones that come out, cuz it doesn't seem right to throw them in the trash.

Or maybe I am just hoarding them from the tooth fairy......

  5. hi there! we (my husband and i) live about 10 min n. of the airport in hopewell. he is origianlly from brookline. i recogize your screen name.. your hushnad sent me a great link earlier and mentioned you were from the burgh.... which part are you from? how long have you been gone? any other suggestions for some of your favorite vegan restaurants? pttsburgh is slowly catching on, but i'm glad they are!!

My family is from all over Pittsburgh...East Liberty (when I was a kid), Southside, I went to Duquesne and Point Park College. My extended family is all over the place. We also live in Cranberry about 20 min N of Pittsburgh.

I have been gone since 1994 but I have been back a few times since then. I am itching for a visit but with 5 of us it adds up.

I am not even sure about vegan restaurants there anymore. I have heard of some opening up since I have been there. I like the East End Food Co- op. Let me knoe what vegan things you like there!

  6. Jamie and I actually saw a place that charged more for dairy. If it were a "vegan" place it would have pissed me off that they even offered it but since it was a vegetarian place we thought it was kinda neat. We took a picture and we'll post it soon(its still on Jamie's camera).

Is that the Wandering Goat in Eugene? They do that!

  7. Ahh the ol Were vegan but we will giv eyou animal products for a price....very familiar! I hate that!

While we are on that topic I hate that coffee places charge extra for soy. It should be included!

I have heard of a vegan coffee shop in Seattle, but I have not make it there yet (the coffee shop that is).

  8. Hey Josh! Thanks for sharing with us the things you are going through! Sounds like you have been having a pretty rough time and you are going through a big transition.

I hope things work out for the best for you and I am sure they will.

It was great meeting you at VV and we would love to have you here in PDX! As a matter of fact we will probably bug you a bunch about it until you do it! So, you might as well just plan on moving here!

  9. How cool is that?

From the all the talk and photos, it looked like a fabulous gathering!

Is there a date set for the 2008 gathering?? Hopefully it will coincide with one of my kid-free weekends!.

Bring the kids, then our kids will have playmates, they will love that!

VV is a very kid friendly event! It is a very embracing community! (except for one kid hater you know who you are )

Our kids had a great time and made lots of friends!
