  1. I don't obsess on protein because we gets lots from fruits and veggies but when I do want some, I use raw hemp protein powder. Right now I am using Manitoba Harvest. You can get it online or at Whole Foods.
  2. I would really like to try this but I know that I won't make it. I am really struggling right now. I eat raw for a day or two and then back to my addiction. I can't make any promises because I have disappointed myself so many times. The spirit is willing but the flesh is oh so weak. I eat when I am not hungry and I eat the wrong stuff. HELP!![/b]
  3. I guess that I haven't checked in here lately but thanks for the input. It's funny, but I got to thinking today about how making smoothies would take away alot of the precious enzymes in the food. Then I read this!! I do juice and that would constitute the same thing. I will keep experimenting as to what works best for ME!! I first have to wean myself completely off of cooked food and take it from there.
  4. I'm not a bro but a sis!! The reason I asked was because it was stated on Bigwii's site that the cookies and treats made by raw foodists was junk food. They are made from raw foods so I was wondering if he considered smoothies to be junk food. It was just a little confused as to what constituted raw junk food.
  5. Do you use smoothies made with fruit and greens? If not, why not and do you consider them to be raw junk food?
  6. http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/index.php Here is a great website for eating raw.
  7. Cancer is caused by articles like this one. Sheesh.
  8. Yup, same here. Still trying to overcome my addiction to cooked food. It was actually easier to become a vegan than to give up cooked food. Right now I eat raw all day except for my evening meal.
  9. Cool site. Reading it now. Top to bottom.
  10. Give all of your cooked food to Taz. He luvs it. That's what makes him so mean. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o293/belleadonna/02cb9c65.gif
  11. That's too bad. The one in Colonial Heights has a small but very nice organic sections with a good variety of food including frozen foods, grains, sauces, cereals, nut milks and soy, food bars, etc... They also have a bin section with lots of nuts and dried fruits. They have some produce too but very expensive. Whole Foods in Raleigh is much better. Huge amount of produce at reasonable prices. Last week I got organic Fuji apples for 1.49 lb.
  12. have you tried Ukops? They have alot of organic stuff but they are getting pricey too.
  13. I have been to Ellwood Thompson's. Near Cary Street right? I have a friend that goes to Richmond alot and sometimes I go with her. You're right. Their prices are outrageous. You are going out west? To school?
  14. id eventually like to not eat any bars. theyre too sweet and hurt my teeth. and plus they have wrappers which creates garbage/waste. You mean the wrappers aren't raw??!! I will let ya'll know how I do on the 100% raw. The challenge starts April 1st but I am starting to ease into it now.
  15. Thats what I thought. Most of that stuff has to be pasteurized. How's things in Richmond veganpotter?? I don't get up that way much. We usually only get as far as Colonial Heights!! We go to Raleigh alot more. Raleigh is a really nice city and they have a HUGE Whole Foods store and they just opened a Trader Joes in Cary which is a pretty nice store with great prices.
  16. That challenge is for 3 months, no? I will be lucky to make a month. If I can do that, I will be in on your next 3 month challenge!!
  17. Is almond milk really considered raw? Or is only the homemade raw and not the Blue Diamond or Pacific brands? I don't know, do they have to heat it?
  18. I would never ignore it. Thanks. I will check it out. I am also going to try the challenge over at rawfoodtalk.com. I need the motivation!! Keep posting folks. Need imput. Oranges, just oranges? All day long?
  19. Hey, thanks. That's helpful. Would you classify yourself as a fruitarian when you do eat raw?? I tried the raw revolution bars and didn't like them at all. Have you tried the Think Organic Choc. Coconut and Apricot Coconut bars? They are awesome, organic, and raw. I am looking forward to see what others eat on their all raw diets.
  20. ????? Especially those females that workout but I am interested in everyone's. I am a 53 year old female and I am working toward all raw but I am not there yet. Heck, it took me a year to get back to all vegan!! I have a tough time giving up cooked food. I get bored easily.
  21. Thanks for the link and the help. I just found out that my Miracle Greens has 8.5 billion organisms too. Duh. Read the label stupid. So, I guess that I am getting plenty and don't need a separate product.
  22. I have been taking this stuff now for a couple of weeks and it is amazing. I have noticed a dramatic difference in my sinus problems. For the first time in years, I am able to smell things again, my eyes don't water like they did, and I am not all stuffed up either. Here is a link if any of you want to read about it. http://www.nsc24.com/nsc24.htm
