  4. I dont eat like this everyday but here is a sample: Breakfast - Organic Oatmeal ( one small bowl ) or Organic cereal with soymilk 1 banana 1/2 Cantaloupe cut Orange Juice mix with spirulina powder Snack - Peanut butter and Jelly sandwhich (wheat bread) or Raw Nuts : (trail mix or almonds ) Lunch - A bowl of small organic salad ( spinach, carrots, broccoli, red bell peppers) Spaghetti with vegan meatballs or sometimes instead of pasta I would just eat a burrito (brown rice and beans). snack- 1 organic Apple or 1 avocado Dinner- Brown rice with tofu, kale and garlic (I use olive oil and make sure I dont stir fry it too much) or Brown rice w/ seitan, greens and garlic (I use olive oil and make sure I dont stir fry it too much) Sometimes I eat late snack... When I am out all the time or traveling. I would always carry snacks in my bag like: bananas, nuts, seeds, dry fruits, cliff bar, apples, etc.. and ofcourse bottle water. Drink a lot of water I hope this helps but I dont know - I dont eat like this everyday. Buy things in bulk. Shop at farmers market. I dont shop at Wholefoods - they are so expensive. I shop at Trader joes. Theirs on organic food co-op you can join in L.A. - it's cheap. If you want their contact email me. Mix things up and eat heavy food like pastas in the afternoon. I know we cant always eat healthy or stick with organic foods cos we are always out. But best thing is make big quanity of food and put them in the refrigerator so you can take some left over to work tomorrow . PS - When I have extra cash my refrigerator is packed with blueberries and acai drinks
  5. Introduction: My name is J.Lee and I live in Los Angeles. I have 3 jobs: I'm a certified Lifeguard through American Red Cross, Healthy Life Style Coach at YMCA and work as a video camera man at different Dance Clubs. I've been a vegetarian since late 1985. Vegan off and on since the late 80's. I dont eat eggs or drink milk but I have weakness in honey.. And accidentally ate whey few times in mid 90's. So I would say strict vegan since 1996. But during those years ate honey few times. If that makes any sense....
  6. When is the 2009 Vegan Vacation so I can start saving money, bring up friends and save the date. I love Portland!!!
  7. Bruce Lee? Why didn't I think about that? I should of took bunch of martial art classes when I was like 18. By now I would of been a black belt LOL :boxer Routine would be - Good diet, Power Yoga + jogging ( 4 times a week. 20 minute jog) and swimming.
  8. I'm almost 40 now. I was up north visiting my friend who I hadn't seen in a long time. She said something like, "Oh, cute, you have a belly now." I looked down, and I did have a small belly. I don't even drink booze and I had what looked to me like a beer belly. Well, not really, but picture a skinny guy with a little belly going on. So that kind of stuck in my head when I came back home to Los Angeles. I didn't do anything about it for about a year. Then one day I was getting ready to go swimming at the gym and I started staring at my belly. It puzzled me since I had always been pretty skinny. So I did some research and found out that as we get older our metabolism slows down. I had definitely gained some weight, and for some reason the first place those extra pounds went was right in my stomach. I read some things online, went to the bookstore and got a book called "Men's Health: Amazing Abs." I stopped eating heavy foods at late night including pasta, rice, beans, bread, and potatoes. I've also changed my diet a little by avoiding vegan junk foods like any kind of microwaveable foods, and I'm trying to eat more raw foods. If I eat late at night, I get up in the morning and burn the calories by jumping rope. An interesting article I read said that doing leg raises while lying flat on your back or hanging down from a bar (hanging leg raise) are much more effective than sit ups. I also have to do lower back exercises so all the heavy pressure won't just be on the front of my stomach. I finally have a few small lines on my abs... Workout wise - I've been doing a lot of Power Yoga, jogging (4 times a week. 20 minutes: 2 miles), and swimming. http://diyzine.com/sitebuilder/images/myspaceblogjangbefore_1_-144x225.jpg Before http://diyzine.com/sitebuilder/images/myspaceblogjangbefore02_1_-163x225.jpg After - June 2007 http://diyzine.com/sitebuilder/images/myspaceblogjangbefore03_1_-173x225.jpg DEC 2007 or JAN 2008 http://diyzine.com/sitebuilder/images/jangsixpackapril92008_1_-165x225.jpg April 09 2008 I'll post another ab pic here in late August
