Canal bike? You can ride a bike on the water???
Yeah, well, it's actually a small boat that is propelled by pedaling. It's fun.
Tarz & Gymhater, are you sure you'll be able to attend? I mean, can we fix the date?

Well, hate to be bother but this is not an option for me. I'm allergic to water and as such I don't like canalbikes. Sorry.

Sacco,
Is there anything in particular that you would like to know about
"america"?
Not really... I just meant that I had no idea of the places everyone mentioned because I never visited america
But thanks for asking!

Hey Bryant, Welcome to the forum!

When I was talking about Holland I meant the whole of the Netherlands... (I'm not even from the provinces of holland myself) Runner is right that Holland actually just signifies two provinces but is common practice to say Holland when the talking about the Netherlands.
Confusing?

My little sister watches a cartoon called "Brace Face" and the star of the show is a vegetarian, who is "gelatine aware"

Too bad that I don't know shit about america... As for what I know and apart from where I'm living know I think it would be Italy, because of the beautiful language and shores. But then again... New Zealand sounds pretty awesome, a friend of mine just moved there and he tells me it's great.

I still like the climbing plan, haven't climbed since I was about 14 yrs. old so I think it will be fun, but option 4 is also okay. Maybe it's easier to talk during a non-sports activity. A concert would be nice too but there would have to be a concert that we'd all like.
Gym Hater, are you from holland?

Hey there
Me & Runner were thinking of arranging a meetup in holland, doing some sports and some eating. Of course this is mainly for people from holland but if you live close (germany, belgium) or just happen to be in holland at the time you're welcome!

Anywhere is fine, I don't mind travelling. I'll start a new threat for recruiting purposes. Will you ask aorund on the other forums you were talking about?

Hey Offense74,
The points you make deserve a good response, so I'm gonna think about it for a few days before I'll reply. Please be patient!

Hey Runner,
Both climbing and cycling sound like fun to me, but hey, I'm basically up for anything Maybe we should discuss the activity when we know who wants to join us?
I don't have anything planned for the 17th of june, so that's also okay.
Let's start recruiting!
-
you want to train, eat and relax?
Sounds like a plan Although I don't know if training is a good idea since I'm not really much of a bodybuilder, i train with freeweights only to increase my muay thai performance (and since you're a runner i assume that you're not into to the very heavy stuff?)
as for the date, i don't have any time at all 'till the start of june, promised myself i'd finish my ba-thesis before then. on the bright side, there's some time to gather some people..

Hey there,
I could go on for days on this subject (I study Political Philosophy) but to save you from a long and tedious theoretical semi-explanation, I'll try to be brief and stick to my own viewpoint.
Thing is capitalism is just a natural extension to owners rights. If you own your body, intellect and time you should also own the fruits of these traits. In my opinion it is not a natural extension. There's a HUGE difference between working hard and thus earning lots of stuff for yourself and just leaning back and profiting from your capital. I think it's alright for someone to have a nice life and thus working hard for it. The problem starts when you start amassing more than you can use in order to make extra profit, especially when it concerns scarce goods. There's a theory that distinguishes between generations of profit (1st gen is the direct result of your work, like grain you planted and harvested, 2nd gen is the profit you make over your existing capital by letting it grow, like interest over your money, 3rd gen is profit over profit, like stock-trading, 4th gen is profit over profit over profit like trading in options) Most anti-capitalists agree that 3rd and 4th gens are wrong, and 2nd is doubtable at best.
If you want a non-capitalist society ALL owners rights must be abolished, including owners rights to your own time.
What? Why? Could you explain this further, since I'm not quite sure what you're getting at?

Hey,
Though I've only been a member of this board since last week I think a meet-up is a good idea, it's always nice to meet other vegans
Do you know how many people from holland are on this board? Since I don't have a clue...

I was wondering how people felt about honey.. I know it's not strictly vegan but if comes from a good source I don't have a problem with it. Would you/ do you eat honey?
