  1. That's a great story to ride with professional athletesmaybe and showing them that you can ride fast as vegan or raw vegan and use a bamboo bike. Maybe bamboo and hemp fiber would be used in large bike factories so that the prize and its weight get accessible to each cycling fan. I just get my first carbon TCR Giant bike: I love it but I will be ready to get a bamboo bike withthe same characterists as my new Giant TCR Advance 2. Why Lance did try the vegan diet to increase his performance after his Cancer treatment ? He need a good sport nutritionist coach: I go back to school in September for a nutrition degree in France and want to add couple class in medicine sport to become a performance cycling coach with vegan diet in France... my dream is to open a vegan recreation cycling center for track racing in North of Normandy. I will need investors to support me for this long term project with building a private indoor Velodrome with Guest house capacity. Any suggestions ?
  2. Bonjour SeaSiren, I love all your previous messages and of course your very pretty pictures . You are gorgeous and an athlete. I recognize your disciple in your work out as a professional sport woman... like me in my scientific work or my cycling competition, I like to schedule my lifestyle around my training or experiment... you can not become the overall Oregonian Best Master 2006 & 2007 without a serious training and diet. Bravo and thank you to share your passion and lovely family with us. Bisous et a bientot Jerome
  3. Thank you Tuc and Welcome to this great forum. I am please to see one Europaen vegan coming to our forum. It is nice also to learn about the history and languages of our diversity. merci I never be in Finland, just in Sweden for 10 days by bike long time ago... I loved scandinavians... and get a very welcome from Sweden as French. Jerome
  4. Bonjour , I want to thank you at first to share your idea in this great forum. I wish all "un joyeux Noel" and " eine frohe Weihnachten" Jerome PS: Did you know if a New Year veg/vegan/raw food Party is in Portland ?
  5. Robert, thanks for the information. Yes, I am following the complete Rawsummit2 workshorp and was amazed by the talk of Tim yesterday. I check his website and could see that he is a very great athlete as 100% vegan raw eater. I think my diet is very good as vegan cooking 95% at home with organic & whole grain... but I will increase my raw food. I don't want to get any title as vegan or 100% raw eater. It will be a lot of fun to increase my raw food. How do you "cooking" rice or beans as raw ??? Is self made soy milk raw ?
  6. Welcome to the forum ! By the way I love hemp powder in my large breakfast and in my smoothies just after my bike training or commuting. Scientifically hemp protein is one of the best plant-based protein on our planet with a great balance of all amino acids, that you need. However I balance hemp with the other plant-based protein sources (soy, rice ,beans ,wheat .... ). Diversity is the best ! Where did you get your hemp powder ? I order 25 lb organic hemp directly from one farm online in Canada. What are you doing in South California ? au revoir Jerome
  7. Welcome Navaes to the forum ! It would be ice to meet you, your kids and your husband. I am amazed for your living decision... I am just a new vegan (8 months) athlete competing in cycling in Oregon and I wish to know about veganism earlier in my life. As biologist working at OHSU it would be very exciting to meet your husband too, but I would try to orientate my research career to the nutritional therapies for divers chronic diseases. Jerome
  8. Welcome Dave, you have more experience as vegan as me, but it is possible to work on your body at each age. I just become 37 years old yesterday, and want to gain muscle mass for my cycling... oui, it would work but it will take a lot of months because I am not 18 years. Do you try to use hemp powder in addition to soy products ? I try to based my main protein nutriment with organic hemp powder, a very good quality of protein. I learned at the VegFest in Portland that you don't need so much protein as publish (2 mg protein per bodyweight per day). Actually I learned that too much protein on rat increase the risk of cancer... however I don't know if plant-based proteins have different effect on the human body... this scientific study was based on casein too, if I right understand. ok.. welcome in the forum Jerome
  9. Welcome Josh... persistence in the effort or in the balanced world (= vegan). After the VegFest in Portland, I am so glad to become a vegan and to have a chance to escape our west countries diseases... and become stronger at the sport competitions because of lost of most all of the toxins. The talk from Dr Colin Campbell and Dr Esselstyn were for me very supporting my hypothesis as biologist working on vascular diseases. Jerome

  11. Bonjour My name is Jerome and I just register in your forum. I became a vegetarian in January 2006 and after my successful bike season in Oregon, I am now vegan. My coach is worried about that because I need to get muscle mass, which is very hard with my genetic... I am a skinny guy but wish to be faster in sprint on the track. Maybe somebody has tips. I did already the standard excises and weight lifting in winter... I discover last falls at the VegFestival in Portland the hemp powder and use it as my main protein source. Beside performance I wish to have a lot of friends sharing my hobby and my new passion as vegan. au revoir ... yes, I come from France ! Jerome
