I just got my student loan in and I'm getting ready to start wasting it on my time trial bike I've been wanting to do this for a while. I'll also start looking to build up my track bike in the very near future too. Anyway I was just wondering if any of you guys/gals are looking to buy and new gadgets, widgets or whatever else you have in mind to maintain your self destructive cycling habits. Oh...I also just got my team winter jacket so now I don't need 5 layers of clothes. Normally I can get warm on cold rides but I feel very restricted...now with my Jacket I think it'll hold me down to 35 comfortably with nothing under it and maybe even 20 with a thin layer.

OrganicAthlete is sponsoring a casual group bike ride. Please join the group for Saturday morning ride! It's totally free of course, and should be fun: It starts at 10 a.m. under the east side of the Hawthorne bridge. It is around 13 miles, down the Springwater corridor into SE Portland and back to the water front. One stop at Space Monkey Coffee on 71st and Harold(vegan friendly). A stop at the end of the ride could happen if the group wanted.

from http://www.mmaweekly.com how fabulous is that Quote: "The Ultimate Fighting Championship today officially confirmed what has been rumored for quite some time now, their official return to the United Kingdom on April 21, 2007. Their first show in Great Britain in nearly five years is set to take place in Manchester, England at the MEN Arena, with tickets going on sale on Monday, Feb. 19." Quote:"early rumors suggest the inclusion of Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Tito Ortiz, Forrest Griffin, and Andrei Arlovski as likely participants on the April 21st fight card."

Do these exist? I remember growing up enjoying bowling but I didn't like having to wear the leather bowling shoes. Any advice or links? Anyone a fan of bowling? My best is only around 170, but I hope to get better someday.

http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles.asp?n_id=6366 Heres a article on the Elite XC. Honestly from the sound of it, in due time this organization will be blowing the UFC out of the water. It also looks like the fighters would be flocking to this organization, mainly because the pay is so good. David Louiseu is rumored to be getting 170,000 for 3 fights. Dana White better start thinking of how to rework the UFC if he wants any top fighters left.

I know this covers many different martial arts, but I began my martial arts training under the rubric of Tang Soo Do. I am seeking a new way to get in shape and maintain discipline. What would you recommend for increasing endurance, discipline, energy, etc. while being doable for someone who is drastically out of shape?

surfing thru the channels i ran a new pro wrestling show, on MTV?! yeah i know, but it was actually pretty good. they had a few veterans you may have heard of, and i was glad to see them back in action. there was Vampiro, X-Pac (now know as 6-pack), Justin Credible, and New Jack. and the new guys were real good also. lots of high flying and acrobatic action. also lots of the good old tables, ladders, and thumbtacks! check out a clip here.

The California Golden Bears face the Stanfurd Cardinal tonight. I'll be there at the game with RallyComm (the section that is wearing the blue and yellow rugbies). If you want to look out for me on TV go to the pictures section and see my football/volleyball pictures. Those of you who live in the Bay Area or have really good satellite can watch it on Fox Sports Net Bay Area. Go Bears! Beat The Color!

I could push myself around, but I totally forget how to ollie and do flip tricks. I am gonna skateboard to cross-train for snowboarding, but I feel like such a fool cause even an 8 yr old kid schooled me.

Well, I was able to get online and register for the Mt. Washington Hillclimb in Aug. It is a very tough bike ride up mt. washington. Only 600 riders are permitted. www.mtwashingtonbicyclehillclimb.org I just hope I do not die. Now I just need to get a cycling jersey that says vegan on it. I wonder how many raw vegans will be doing this?

So, do we have good skippers here perhaps? Im pretty interested in good rope skipping, especially for my boxing. But I just wont become any better anymore and I feel pretty burned out. I dont know how people can become as fast as seen on multiple videos.. but anyway I think it is a very good exercise for coordination and stamina. What experience have you made? So any suggestions on how to train or perhaps good training videos or books would be very welcome. Or how about the ropes itself? danny**

caught this show last night on MSNBC. it's sorta like a news/documentary style show, similiar to 48 hours on CBS. i think each episode they are going to follow different fighters around. the one i saw last night featured Enoch Wilson and Urijah Faber, one of the top lightweights around. it was a pretty good show. did a pretty good job of dispeling some myths about MMA, like when Faber was discussing the rules of MMA with his disapproving mother and Wilson pointed out there are more serious injuries in figure skating than MMA. they followed them training and at their day jobs. they even interviewed a couple of female MMA fighters, which you never see anywhere else. it airs…

I'm planning on taking some classes over this up and coming summer and i'd like to get some input from you more experienced martial arts people. If you've taken one class, you're more experienced than i am. I'm a big dude although i hope to drop some weight by summer. I have no injuries that can hold me back but i need to start doing some endurance conditioning if i'm gonna last in a fight. Styles i'm interested in... 1. Muay Thai 2. Ninjitsu 3. Jiujitsu 4. Judo 5. Aikido Schools. http://www.chicagomartialartsclasses.com/ http://www.chicago-ninjutsu.org/ http://team-toro.com/class.html
