soyduck
Hi! My name is Heidi. I've been getting fit since August of 2006. I've been vegan since April 2007. Being vegan is the best decision I ever made. Since getting fit was the second best decision I've ever made, I've decided to combine the two and get certified to become a personal trainer. I start my class next month. I'm pretty well educated in nutrition and health already, but I need that extra training to be able to help clients make the best health choices. I am so unbelievably excited at the prospect of helping others achieve their dream body, and hopefully show them that being vegan is the ultimate in health and compassion. Nice to meet everyone! hsorlando
Welcome! I just recently became a certified trainer too! I love fitness, nutrition, being vegan, and wanted to help others. I find at the gym that more people are open about a vegan diet than I thought. I only bring it up if we get to talking about nutrition, and what I do, etc. You sound as excited as I was, good luck on your cert.

soyduck
Thanks everyone! The one drawback to my personal training goals is the fact that I live in rural Ohio. I know a lot of people in the farming community, and most don't agree with veganism. Even more than that, most of them could really use a personal trainer, after eating all those eggs and beef. I'm hoping that with the election of Obama & some health care reform, people will be more interested in personal trainers in this area. Either way, I've always wanted to learn the most I can about the human body and how the mechanics all work together. hsorlando, that's really good to hear about people being open to a vegan diet. That's what I'm kind of worried about
beforewisdom
Welcome to the forum Heidi! Congratulations on the switch to veganism and fitness. I got into nutrition and fitness as a teenager. It has served me very well over the years.

tuc
Welcome, Heidi! I love your avatar, nice bicep girl! You're doing the right thing! We really need more vegan personal trainers. When you train people you get to talk with them about nutrition, and if you're super fit and vegan (like Veggieprincess here) you'll have a great influence in people. Good luck with your studies!
