beforewisdom
If you have a gmail or google account of any kind you will want to read this short post. Google decided that it wanted to compete with Facebook. True to Facebook form, Google made gmail/google account holder information, public, by default and without notice. I saw a headline about this the other day and didn’t read the full article ,so I might have some details wrong. Google’s new social media software is called “Buzz”. The day I half read the article I logged into Google Reader. Google Reader collects articles from blogs you like to read in one place. I noticed that in the upper left corner the names of people I had recently Gmailed. When I clicked on their names I could see a list of blog articles they had recently read. I talked with one person about it and they were not aware that this was happening. To protect yourself log into your Gmail account. Under your “Inbox” link you will see a link called “Buzz”. Click on it. After doing a few minutes of reading you will find ways to remove your google services from “Buzz” or limit the access other people have to seeing your information.
