Out walking near Edinburgh

This evening we went out walking in the Pentland Hills, that are right next to Edinburgh.

It has been lovely weather today, nice and sunny though the wind was a little cold.

I think that we walked about 6miles in total, up to about 550m, across moorland (and an Army firing range! ).

It was nice to get a bit of fresh air, and I made sure that I took adequate food (1litre choc soy milk, 125g nuts and raisins, 1.5ltr water with 120g dextrose) for the walk.

Here are some pictures:

Me, slightly posing for the camera ( ) with Edinburgh in the background:

This bit, though close to a road, took a bit of walking to get to, but is my new wallpaper on the PC:

We got to a place called Flotterstone at about 8.50pm, with no travel arrangements and the next bus at 10.00pm. So we tried hitching. About 15 cars passed us with no luck, and literally the very last car pulled over. The guy, called Ronald, was a cracking chap, who lived out in a place called West Linton (where we want to move to, or somewhere close to), and just built his own house (which we want to do) and did it in a contemporary style (which we want to do). And the funniest thing is that he was going to the very next street to ours in Edinburgh!

I shall be hitching again in the future me thinks!

That last picture is quite scenic. I love it! I can't wait until I have the opportunity to travel out to Scotland and enjoy a few pints, some stone lifting, and views such as that.

When/If that opportunity comes you'll have to tip me in on the best places to go.

Regards,

Sensless
