Honey
Crystal, you must really love spinach!! Since I've discovered kale, that is my staple greens these days... I need to eat it almost everyday or else I start to feel somewhat deprived (depraved?) VeganPotter, I don't know if I could dumpster dive for food. I did it once in San Fran and I felt "weird" about it. However, I did make some amazing banana bread to last me a couple of weeks. I've never tried kale with banana ~ I must try it soon. The freegan concept is pretty interesting though, there is so much good food wastage these days and overconsumption... blah!
Guest
I'd probably never be able to do it either...I'm a big germaphobe but the concept of saving money is what would make me do it...not to counteract our wastefull society(although that would be a good reason)...as for spinach I think butter lettuce is a reasonable comprimise. It has about the same texture and a comprable flavor

Guest
Nobody banned canned spinach...that was Popeye's fav...I don't think he would have gotten such a good pump from fresh spinach
Odidnetne
Maybe, but I bet Brutus is loving this spinach recall.
Kathryn
Maybe, but I bet Brutus is loving this spinach recall. And who was that other Brutus look-alike that used to try to kick Popeye's behind? (Kind of like on "Bewitched," when the two Darren's looked eerily similar...for those of you old enough to remember!)
