No, I'm not a vegan...I eat some fish.

I don't do dairy.

I would starve, as a vegan, with no protein...since I can't really eat beans and my diet does not allow soy.

Selfish, I know but I'll be honest at least.

I eat:

spinach, kale, cooked squash and carrots

tuna

fish

sesame oil/olive oil/avocado

some nut butters

mmm....some cooked fruit once in a while (can't eat raw fruit or it's hell to pay -- e.g. pear/apple)...occasionally - a banana

Most of my meals consist of protein, vegetables and some fat.

Yes, boring.

But eggs are out, so are lentils, so are beans, so are peanuts, corn, all grains, potatoes, sweet potatoes (the diet I follow forbids disaccharides and I do noted some improvement so I go with it) ...

I eat no sugar. Some honey once in a while.

ljk11,

I assume you are vegan?

Actually, it is a poop test. Pretty extensive from what I remember but very accurate.

they can diagnose allergies from that?

I've had stool samples done to determine certain things but nothing ever came out of it. Not much fun, either

yes, they can. It is quite amazing and like i said they test for everything.

I found out one of the things i was allergic to is garlic? I could not believe it. How could someone be allergic to garlic??

Have you been tested to make sure you do not have any parasites?

My DC made me go to my medical dr. to have that test first, just to rule it out.

My diet is very limited, like yours, except i eat no animal products or processed foods whatsoever.

Have you been tested for candida?

do you avoid all wheat products, additional salt and condiments?

I have a friend who discovered some of his food allergies minimized (but not eliminated completely) after a cleansing fast.

He also tried a chiropractic technique called "Applied Kinesiology" to eliminate food allergies and food sensitivities, with amazing results. It sounds wacky, I know, but he hadn't been able to eat most fruits for about 20 years, and the following day he could eat as much as he wanted.

have been tested for parasites in the past...nothing.

no grains so that definitely rules out wheat and gluten

I cook everything myself from scratch. Nothing processed, from a box, jar, etc. I use whole food exclusively. My condiments are spices...and maybe the odd splash of vinegar. I don't eat anything CLOSE to the 'SAD' diet.

Is that the "natural allergy elimination technique (NAET)"? I've heard about that.

See if taking digestive enzymes/probiotics help you... Your intestinal flora may not be so healthy.

I do~

I'm not trying to be difficult here...but when I say I tried it all -- I think I really have!!!

There are tons of different types of beans you could eat...lots of grains that don't have gluten...lots of fruit...basically almost everything. Its not difficult to be vegan for anyone.

are the vitamins you take synthetic?

I saw some video yesterday that mention the recent news about vitamins that can kill you, but the test were all lop sided and they were all syntheticcally made..

also, perhaps it is something you are not eating which is causeing this?..

If it's not the same thing, then it's something extremely similar. Weird stuff, but it really seems to work.

I don't eat any of those either, no soy, wheat, gluten, rice, grains, beans,

(unless fresh green beans in a salad), no corn.

no vinegar, & more recently.. nothing fermented, no stimulants (raw cacao's out), eventually I'd also like to eliminate spicy foods as well..

(garlic, ginger, etc.), since..if you think about it, humans are the only

ones that consume these things, animals in nature and even children

will strongly reject spicy foods!

(currently, I only consume garlic occassionally)

Also, it is difficult on the digestive system.

I am also raw vegan. And I feel like I eat plenty of food!

99.9% of the food on this earth is raw plant matter,

be creative with your options!

The basic philosophy behind my diet, is to not consume anything

that has gone thru some unnatural process.

Which also means limited to/no consumption of dehydrated foods.

My best advice would to be learn as much as you possibly can about

proper food combining, and maybe try a colonic of two

Good luck!

Can you please provide examples of what you DO eat?'

Thanks.

Sure.

Bare in mind it is different everyday, but over all.. I tend to eat:

Fruits in the AM thru to mid-day, then usually nonsweet fruits

(such as bell peppers, cucumbers etc.), along with sprouts.

I try not eat a lot of heavy foods, so the most fat I'll have in a day

could be a handful of raw/soaked almonds, or seeds & an avocado.

I have also been trying to incorporate a lot of fresh juices into my

diet as well.

Typical day:

AM:

Water of 1 Young coconut

or, fresh fruit/green juice.

2-5 pieces fruit.

(I mono eat a lot, it really helps digestion.. like say eating 3 citrus fruits,

or 3 apples, etc.)

a few hours later...

2-5 pieces fruit.

(whatever is in season, and extremely ripe.)

PM:

Sometimes a large green & fruit/protein smoothie (also for breakfast).

Typically with berries, superfoods, & hemp protein.

a few hours later...

Green leaf wraps(collards, chard, kale, romaine lettuce etc.)

with sesame seed pate, julienned bell peppers,

cucumbers, tomatoes, sea veggies, lots of sprouts.

Gigantic salad, with avocado, olives, or whatever fats I am craving.

Guacamole sometimes

Do you get hungry much?

All that sounds yummy.

Do you make your own pate?

and not to be rude - but isn't hemp protein processed? not that I think that's bad - you said you were trying to avoid it.

I have this idea that i perhaps need to get away from -- that i need more protein than your typical diet provides.

Do you do a lot of sports/weights?

I find citrus doesn't agree with me too much - but I do love it...

Hemp protein is cold pressed. While there is less fat in the powder (and more protein concentration) it's still considered a raw food.

Physically hungry?

No, I don't. I mostly just eat for the pleasure of eating.

I actually feel more energized without food/minimal food intake.

But, I typically do a good amount of weight lifting, running, cycling,

poi spinning, hulahoop dancing, and I am also training for my first

marathon this year, as well as cycling 250 miles in less than 24 hours.

So, the diet I stick to right now fuels me athletically.

(hence the hemp protein addition)

But I still consume less than 30g of protein per day, I'd say I take in

about 20g on average. & I need virtually no recovery time from

my activities, I believe protein is very much over-hyped in our society.

What you really need is pure oxygen and clean water.

Any Hemp I am going to purchase at the health food store is going

to be grown in Canada, I cannot escape that.

Hemp protein powder is almost always found organic and exclusively raw.

Sometimes I consume ground hemp seeds or other hemp food varieties.

I do try and stay away from processed things, but I suppose it just

depends on the process it has endured and if it sits well with my body.

I think the perfect balance of Omega 3's & 6's that hemp products provide,

is enough to keep it on my list of "quality" foods.

I typically make a lot of my own spreads and dinners, just because

I love raw food preparation. It's unbelieveable simple and easy to

come up with delicious recipes, all you need is a blender.

Maybe scan thru some raw vegan uncookbooks (such as The Raw Truth -by Jeremy A. Safron) to get an idea of something simple.

Wow!!! If you can sustain that kind of activity on your diet, then I owe it to myself to try something like that. I'm all for the sorts of foods you eat (and do eat a lot of stuff like that, which most of society would consider bizarre - but what do they know )

Maybe I am overconsuming protein and it's causing me grief.

I've been indoctrinated into the "i lift weights so I need 1g/lb of body mass in protein per day"

I was actually afraid to get less than that because I have managed to build a fair amount of muscle (that's an old avatar, I'm not so bony in the back anymore...) but hey, I'm sure I could do just as well on less protein and more carbs? I do eat a ton of veggies already...and I love them

I really thought it was necessary. But if you and Brendan B can live on that -- maybe I can too.

I know I'm not 'technically' supposed to eat hemp on my diet but i do - most seeds are 'allowed' and my doctor and i agreed to just eat the hemp.

Can you post the recipe for your sesame seed pate??
