Salad Dressing

Recommended Posts

Is there such thing as raw salad dressing? I know people can make it themselves, but i'm talking about stuff you can buy in a jar?

It's MUCH better, easier, and cheaper just to make it at home...

olive oil

garlic or ginger

lemon or lime juice

agave nectar &/or chosen sweetner

dash of celtic sea salt

you can also blend in some greens, like cilantro or parsley.

Make as much as you want, it will last a week in the frige.

There are some fabulous recipes all over the web for 'at home'

raw dressings, I really like Jeremy A. Safron's book "The Raw Truth".

A LOT of helpful, delicious, simple recipes.

Also, just massaging avocado into the salad greens with your hands is

my personal favorite method...

Its nearly impossible to find anything raw in a jar due to govt. regulations regarding transporting non-perishable foods. I wouldn't care if something was raw though...not if you don't mind it being in a jar for months before it even makes it in a store. A jarred raw food is no different than something thats been deep fried but it was done right in front of you.

haha Tahiti is a place Tashie! Tahini is the food!

But yes, tahini and lemon is a great raw dressing. I've been blending tomatoes and a little mango lately and pouring that over mixed greens. Sooo yummy. I added a teaspoon of hempseeds in the blender with the toms and mango the other night and it made it into a creamier style dressing. I guess you could use avocado or sunflower seeds instead too.

Sometimes I just like to blend a whole bunch of veggies together and pour it on salads(more veggies lol)

I start with tomatoes for the water content, some carrots to thicken it up and add a little natural sweetness, some celery for a little sodium, and some fresh chopped basil, parsley, or dried dulse flakes.

Guacamole is great for salads.

guacamole is great for everything

When I was first transitioning to raw vegan.... I would seriously

make a HUGE bowl of guacamole with 5 avocados and eat the

entire thing for dinner..

This is not recommended...

But it was delicious. haha

You eat like a man ! lol ...or at least was eating like a man.

Most girls eat like a bird. Half of a banana or a small square of chocolate and they're full.
