Then I assume you have the "Hardy Boys" somewhere in your library??
I probably have a few somewhere. Last time I moved I had close to 40 large moving boxes full of books.
And, of course, "Are You There God It's Me, Margaret" under a stack ??
No. Never really did the Judy Blume thing (although I vaguely recall reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, and Superfudge).

My favorites were Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain (which is what the Disney movie The Black Cauldron was based on), Madeleine L'Engle's Time Quartet (A Wrinkle In Time, A Wind in the Door etc), The Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators series, Encyclopedia Brown and the Choose Your Own Adventure books.
I was totally geeky even as a kid

I was very disappointed in Matt's performance. He never seemed to take charge of the fight and he certainly has the capability to do so and easily. The man is incredibley strong. Hopefully more training will get him where he needs to be.
I also thought Shamrock's coaching was really, really good. You can really hear him clearly during the fight.
Matt could have finished the fight so many times. It's a shame he doesn't seem to know any submissions. He had Mike's back on a good 3 or 4 occasions where if he had just slapped on a RNC it would have been over.
I thought it was kinda funny that he had his hands down the entire fight, and was throwing a bunch of lethargic punches, and still pretty much totally dominated.

You could always use humanure.

I really don't see a problem with it. It's a waste product, it may as well be put to good use.

the Golds Gym I go to doesn't have anything like that

then we turn on the tv to see any coverage about it. and what do we see? people playing cards and some guys driving around in circles for 200 miles. now i'm not saying that poker and race car driving don't deserve any coverage. but everytime i turn on the tv i see poker challenge this and that, but why are MMA fighters not getting any coverage anywhere else? these guys are busting their balls in that octagon. the amount of traning and discipline they put into this is huge. as popular as the PPV's are and as hard as they train, it's a shame that MMA fighters get no recognition in the mainstream sports news at all.
It's because most mainstream news/sports outlets consider it human cock-fighting still and it's not really looked at as a legit sport.
Of course the only thing more pathetic than watching poker on tv (and since when the hell is that a sport???) is watching bowling on tv.
Race car driving comes in a close fourth right behind golf.

The next season of the Ultimate Fighter will be called The Ultimate Fighter 4: The Comeback, and instead of unknowns, is going to feature 16 former UFC stars (8 middleweights and 8 welterweights) looking to make a comeback. This time instead of a contract, the winners are going to recieve a guaranteed title shot and a six figure cash prize.
Instead of team captains/coaches, they're going to have current UFC stars as advisors, including Randy Couture, Georges St. Pierre and Mark Delgrati (Muay Thai trainer).
Sounds like fun.

There's also a tentative fight scheduled for UFC 62 in August between Diego Sanchez and Karo 'the Heat' Parisyan.
Oddly, Kazushi Sakuraba, Gary Goodridge and the upper management of K-1 were at this event and sitting with Dana White. Maybe a possibility of a cross-promotional event? They've already got a talent exchange going (Royce is under contract to K-1). A Rich Franklin vs. Sakuraba fight would be pretty cool to see.

UFC 61: Bitter Rivals will be on July 8 with a Tim Sylvia vs. Andrei Arlovsky rematch, and the Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz rematch.

I dont want to sound ignorant but I was watching the "Best of" on spike once and saw a guy named Josh Burkett or something, he is bald, small amount of hair under his bottom lip, he was in one a the Ultimate figher shows, I dont know if it was 1 or 2. anways I saw him fight, and he flew through the air and front choke this guy. really fast , anyway he was calling out diego and stevenson, I would love to see that fight. Josh (that part of the name I am sure of) was hurt and could not compete effectively on the Ultimate fighter (I think that he was cut), so this was the first time I had seen him fight at full capacity, wow
That would be Josh Burkman, who trains with Team Quest (same place as Chris Leben, Ed Herman, Randy Couture, and Matt Lindland)

He's the one who eliminated Melvin Guillard from TUF2, but had to leave the show due to suffering a broken arm during that fight.

If Max isn't back with them then it's not really Sepultura.

Total pwnage by Ed Herman this week. With Dana and everyone saying Ed looked terrible and had alot of ring rust, Danny must be a pretty bad fighter.

I know it was, I was just trying to get on to see if they would even consider it. of course they didn't and I don't think I could have stomached those meat eaters' smellI tried to watch that show. Man, was it lame. That one chick who cooked remotely healthy looking stuff was eliminated pretty quickly. Of course she didn't seem like she was much of a chef either.
I think she had made a vegetarian entree on the episode she was eliminated.

so the hughes/gracie fight is a non title fight. so even if gracie wins he will not get the belt. is this a one off fight for gracie?
yeah, it's just an exhibition. Gracie isn't under contract with the UFC.

Eat the way you want to eat, and fuck what anyone else thinks.
So he eats vegan at home, and vegetarian when he goes out to restaurants. Does that make him less of a person somehow? Anyone who would condemn or criticize him for that is a more despicable person that he is.

This is the full card for UFC 60
-Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie (non-title)
-Brandon Vera vs. Assuerio Silva
-Mike Swick vs. Joe Riggs
-Dean Lister vs. Alessio Sakara
-Diego Sanchez vs. John Alessio
-Melvin Guillard vs. Rick Davis
-Fabianbo Scherner vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
-Spencer Fisher vs. Leonard Garcia
I wonder why they've got Melvin on there. He was the first one eliminated from TUF 2 and now he's on a ppv event.
-
Ed's got a 10-3-0 pro record. He's alot like Bisping in that he's already a fairly established fighter.
Danny is 1-1-0 amateur and doesn't really have alot of experience.
I'd like to see Danny win just because everyone is so certain that Ed is going to take this.

SKF: Only if you leave your toothbrush uncovered and out in the open in the bathroom, and the toilet seat up. I do neither so my toothbrush lacks feces and piss germs.
I know what you are thinking SKF: ocd.

It was originally. A 4th book called Many Waters came out in the mid 80's, several years after I had stopped reading books at that reading level.
I have artwork from it hanging on the wall in my bathroom. Maurice Sendak rules.
Oh, another one that was one of my favorites as a kid - The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster
