  1. I've tried a few vegan protein powders and they make me so gassy by the evening. I've tried blending with Almond Milk or water and doesn't make a difference. I'm talking about some methane gas here, pretty bad. I tried Garden of Life and Vega. I've been getting most of my protein from nuts but my fats come out too high. Anyone else have these issues or know of a protein powder easier to digest? Thanks in advance.
  2. I'm curious how you guys are getting all your protein (I mean lots). Or have you found you get good gains by just eating more carbs? I had a bad reaction from soy — consuming 2-3 blocks of tofu per day over 3 years. I started to develop gyno on my right side. I stopped all soy and it went away in three weeks (Yes, what they say is true). I'm following Michael Matthews book "Bigger Leaner Stronger". I'm seeing great results but I've been getting almost all my protein from big smoothies using organic plant protein powders and some with veggies. Without tofu it's been a real challenge getting my macros. I've even considered eating eggs but I can't bring my self to do it. What's your take on it?
  3. We might be moving to Costa Rica. Anyone know if any local places there that carry vegan protein powders? Thanks
  4. I could eat tofu all day if I could. I eat 9 lbs of it per week. I gained 11 lbs of muscle in 1 1/2 months. My "boobs" have went DOWN since..lol. It's just Big Dairy shakin' in there panties man. Soy is a bean and gift from god. Think about it. My health has gotten tons better since eating soy and I feel frickin' amazing. I love being vegan and love the food I eat! In our society, the "boobs" are from POOR lifestyle habits, eating bugers, pizzas, french fried, donuts, Pepsi and crap food. NOT soy. Soy will make you a lean masculine machine with lots of muscle. Why do you think Robert Cheeke has so many soy dishes in his bodybuilding book. Does it look like any dudes on this website have female boobs? no...

  6. I eat 9lbs of tofu per week and have NO signs of anything. Eat up!
  7. Ya I really wish we didn't have to label everything. But these days we almost have to and restaurant servers should understand the difference. Being Vegan now for 2+ years has been interesting. Still, the majority thinks EVERYONE eats cheese and meat, this was very surprising to me. I can't count how many times CHEESE was placed on my food "just out of habit" and was sent back for correction. And how most people have NO CLUE what is in the food. It really tells you how health-conscious people really are out there and just stuff their face with whatever sounds good. Anyway, sorry for the rant.
  8. Yeah, the Estrogen thing is the ONLY defense they have at the moment. Personally, I think it's an urban legend. I'm proving it WRONG by eating large amounts (24 ounces per day) of 100% Organic Tofu from Sprouted soy beans. Been doing this daily for 4 months and have only noticed a 20lb gain in muscle. Ain't nothing "estrogenic" about that, sorry. My Man Boobs have went DOWN since.
  9. http://freefromharm.org/health-nutrition/vegan-doctor-addresses-soy-myths-and-misinformation/ Excuse me I'm on a rant today. I eat 24 ounces of Tofu PER DAY and proud. I've gained 11lbs of muscle in 6 WEEKS (tested during my bulk) eating no other protein besides Tofu, Soy Milk and "Raw Protein" from Garden of Life, which contains Brown Rice protein and Pea protein etc. I've been eating soy for almost 2 years now daily. Do I have man boobs? No (actually they went DOWN) Am I turning Gay? No. Is my voice changing? No. Do I have allergic reactions? No. Do I have ANY side effects? No. I'm so tired of the dogma and bullshit. If you are afraid of soy, have you actually TRIED it? All the meat eaters say "SOY OH NO!". I'm so sick of it. Before you knock something, try it first. Try, try, try! I TRIED the pizza... I TRIED the burgers... I TRIED the sausages... I TRIED the bacon.. And I got boobs from THIS, not soy. I know animal eaters right now that ONLY eat meat because they herd "soy is bad". Otherwise they would go Vegan. That's just absurd.
  10. Hi, I went through the same boat man. I made a big mistake by eating to little and now I'm rehabilitating my metabolism. I'm under control by a Pro Bodybuilder recommended by Layne Norton. Can you tell me how many carbs and protein you are taking in, calories total? Right now. And how many calories were you eating before you started to lean out? I would get a coach. I can recommend one to you if you want.
  11. I read in a book once "These days you can't talk about Religion and Politics with anyone, now "food" is becoming the same" Meat Religion. No Meat Religion. No Meat and Dairy Religion. I was also listening to a Metal Disorder psychiatrist last night. He said something to the effect: To have pride in a disorder is neutral, but if that disorder is played as an advantage over someone else, it becomes a religion. Organic Chicken breast might be a healthier source of protein then my Blocks of soy, but I'm still not eating animals. There is no such thing as a "Meat Deficiency". But most people eat meat because they like it, not because they think they need it?
  12. I wanted to know your opinion on this feedback from Layne Norton. Try to watch everything as it goes into Vegetarianism towards the end. "Myths About Protein"
  13. I never said you were a bad person because you ate meat, I never said meat is unhealthy. You just found out I was Vegan and you have become very offended by that. Why? I respect all Religions, Human Colors, Political Views and Diets. I talk to a guy at the gym today and he had to protect his beliefs and gave me a speech on how we were born to kill and eat and it's been with us for generations, and he even recommended that I go Paleo. I never said anything negative about him or that animal killing was wrong. He was telling me about a Greek restaurant in L.A. where they cut the meat off a hanging lamb corpse in the kitchen. I was not offended by it, I just told him I maintain a Vegan lifestyle so I probably wont be going. But maybe that was too much. My uncle was also offended when he repeatedly asked me why I wasn't eating any turkey and ham at Thanksgiving. I just told him I do without meat now because it makes me feel better. What happen to people just being cool and respectful to one another. Why is it always a war or survival to the death? Please relax.
  14. I eat a lot of soy and feel FANTASTIC!
  15. 300 carbs a day?? Holly crapo. I only take 250 and I'm bulking. I would lower carbs and up the protein. How many calories are you consuming?
  16. I want to make sure I'm on the right track. What macros do you usually go by when bulking and cutting, are they about the same? I'm on a bulk right now taking in 2500 on off days and 2800 to 3400 on training days. For me, I have noticed it's really hard to have a low fat diet with Vegan. Mine varies, but here is what I normally do 40-45% Carbs 30%~ Protein 35%~ Fats Fats seems to always follow the protein. For example, if I have any nuts, the fat will follow. Should I worry about it? What are your macros?
  17. Thanks man. Well he is a she, and she said any diet with more then 30% fat is bad for your heart according to the Heart Association. Ha! I'm not stating I believe this is true. Just seems a bit weird. Maybe they are talking about bacon and ham or something. While we are on the subject, what type of macros are you guys doing on a Vegan diet while bulking and cutting?
  18. Hi, where are you getting this information from? It's difficult to find Tofu under 7gms of Fat per serving. Here's mine... http://www.wildwoodfoods.com/products/meat-alternatives/tofu/vacuum-pack/sproutofu%C2%AE-high-protein-20oz-0
  19. My tofu is too high in fat. Beans give me terrible gas Nuts are too high in fat. Protein power shreds my stomach. What to do? Can anyone recommend a low fat Tofu? Currently I am eating WILDWOOD Non-GMO Organic Tofu from Spouted Soy beans. But the fat is too high and it throws off my Macros. Trainer says it's BAD for my heart to have fat that is 35% of diet.
  20. I found the G.I. for Whey, but that wont help us here I'm looking for the Glycemic Index for Vegan Protein Powders. Most contain brown rice and pea protein.
  21. Yes, and i can smell it a mile away. Its smells so bad now and i've been vegan for 2 years. My wifes mom came to visit and she fried meat patties and i almost died. After this i told my wife there will be no meat cooking in this house ever
  22. Hey guys, I'm back and I'm ready to stop being a "Know it all" and ready to start listening. Because I have been told I am eating to few calories more then once. My theory was, if I were to increase my calories I would gain muscle and keep the fat! This has been a past experience of mine so it's quite frightening to even think about eating more which got me into obesity years ago in the first place. But here's what I realized... It's not so much the higher calories as it is which TYPE of calories I am taking in. If I am just taking in a bunch of junk, I will gain fat. But according to what this board says - "get more protein" is the best, so then I will do this. I will follow this advice and return back here for an update. Yes it's more then a year later and I'm still in the same boat. I'm breaking a RAW food diet to burn fat, just to let you guys know. Because according to this board I need more protein which involves more powders and Tofu, it's a little against my health beliefs but I want the fat off so bad it's taking over authority at this point. I am starting today on my high protein, "high calorie diet" slowly. Note: I am following VeganEssentials advice on raising my calories.
  23. What is your bodyfat % right now? If you are above 10% you could still have fat near the nipple area. I know i did. I would keep lifting but cut your intake down a bit. Just keep going! But eat less.
  24. Thanks to both of you for the suggestions. I will try this.
