Tarzan
I can't believe I can't find a thread discussing music! What do you listen to before/during/after the gym? A few things from the top of my head that get me really pumped: AborymSilencerSunn O)))EquilibriumBLOODBATHGojiraIron maiden Anyone else? There is nothing more incredible than the feeling you get when the music is exactly fucking right and your body is doing everything you want it to and you come out of the gym feeling like a superhero. VeganEssentials
I think we used to have a thread some time ago, but once almost everyone started having probelms embedding YouTube clips (speaking of which, how the heck do we post them now?) it sort of died out. Every training session of mine starts off with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A_tp_vHr9Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3K0wX0mlrQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJyLc6EGjzg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ8Dk8ofsBw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVeUQxi7960 Much more on the training playlist, but crappy computer is lagging every time I go to YouTube to pull more links! HorseSense
The young aussie guy had some videos/music on his log, but it wasn't a "music" thread, and then Baby Herc had started a music thread with a bunch of links. At least I believe it was her. Anyway, here's one I like to count reps to (1 One Thousand, 2 One Thousand (up), 1 One Thousand, 2 One Thousand (down)). Just get in synch with it and do eeeet. HorseSense
I've been listening to, and working out to this one since its release. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU1wLryjuEw&feature=channel I guess it helps that I know what they're saying and thus can sing along. If you've never sang in German full of a good pump and raging testosterone, you haven't LIVED!! And I get a kick out of the whole thing, though I don't actually like hurting anyone. I was reminiscing about way back, more like 2-3 years ago at least (most of the people who posted in the older music thread have long gone from the board now), but glad at least to see someone's resurrecting it! divamom
Ok...I am a throwback...I used to listen to music..but last 6 months or so, I download podcasts of these two guys from manager-tools.com and listen to these two guys. Especially since being laid off. And if not, I like being surprised and I just pick some goofy today's top alternative, or make a station up on Pandora. But did go through a crazy music stage and I still have my playlist somewhere of chili peppers, sublime, cake, nirvana, switchfoot, eminem, lady gaga, the song build me a buttercup, and hanging by a thread by lifehouse, come to mind. I used to have my kids help w/my playlist, but they are assholes this last season or two- and I don't talk to them, ergo no music that only 20 somethings would know.. But manager-tools.com is it mostly these days. And zig Ziglar. Have learned amazing things listening to manager tools -the time in the gym has been mind time as well as body time.
