Lena01
seven cats!! was it easy to domesticate them all? in my house in havana city there are lots of wild cats that live in my yard. we usually have new born kittens every 2 months but unless they need to be fed by us, we just let them live their lives over there. it's really entertaining though, to see them grow and thrive over there. those two cats are cute! You should try to catch and spay some of them...the humane society does it for cheap and there are some groups that will do it for free...to cut down on the exponential growth of feral cats Sometimes we do, say a new-born gets lost and needs to be taken care of. We take care of them until they're big enough to escape 3 meters away and join the other cats. Or when there's one that is sick. Other than that we just give them food when there are too many and they can't all get enough (specially when there are new kittens). I think we do them a favor allowing them to live however they want to. My yard is full of plants and there's some shelter for them too... it's better than the bare floor of the house. So when they leave I can still see them growing and doing crazy stuff on the plants.
VeganGirl2006
I'm a cat nut too! http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e252/fmwitch/martyanddragon2.jpg This is Dragon and Marty. Dragon's the tabby and white and Marty's the black and white. Dragon's 10 now and Marty's 5. Both were rescues from the pound on their day of execution. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e252/fmwitch/Athena2.jpg This is Athena. She was just a little 6 week old ball of fluff here! She's a former farm kitten who now lives with me. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e252/fmwitch/athenaavatar.jpg This is Athena now. Pardon the small size of the pic, as I use this as a avatar on another forum. She's so pretty! Her mom was a Maine Coon and her dad was a seal point Himalayan. Such a gorgeous mix of a kitten! http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e252/fmwitch/Beltane003.jpg This is Valkyrie, my foster kitty. Her actual owners live in Las Vegas. When they moved they couldn't take the kitty with them right away so I offered to keep her. Supposedly they were going to come back up by the end of May to get her. They claimed to be waiting for their government surplus check so they could afford the pet deposit and the trip back to North Dakota. I don't believe they are going to come back for her so I am going to keep her if they don't come back. And Valkyrie adores my daughter Brenna. Spine
I can't resist a cat thread! Nice kitties, everyone. Allow me to share a few shots of my dear departed Rio, whom I had to put down a few months ago. He was born in Vermont, spent most of his life with my mom in Colorado, and came to live with me in Oregon a few years ago. He was 18 years old. Best cat ever. http://www.masaladose.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/rio111606.jpg http://www.masaladose.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/rioondesk3.jpg http://www.masaladose.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/riotub.jpg http://www.masaladose.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/riosleeping.jpg

Zack
Emmy I think it's cool that you didn't buy your cats. We always let our dogs come to us, never buy one. Always works out for the best too.
Emmybear
I agree Stray cats are less uppity....sometimes... I will pretty much never set foot in a pet store again...unless I am protesting the sale of animals. I did have a chinchilla when I was 11 though...sweetest little critter my parents bought him for me.
hsorlando
http://i31.tinypic.com/2vmfqjc.jpgThis is a cat I found when I was walking my dog when I first moved to Orlando. Roameo was best frineds with our dog Alex. After we had to put our dog down, which was the hardest thing ever, Roameo wouldn't drink water except from the dogs water bowl. Then we moved and he became friends with a dog smaller than he was. Edited May 30, 2008 by hsorlando
hsorlando
This was a cat my brothers stupid wife got on freecycle.com. She isn't as cute as she looks. She was named Mindy, but I would have named her something else. Anyway she didn't want the cat when she got pregnant so she came to live with me and my mom. Mindy is not as sweet as she looks either, one minute she'll be letting youpether, the next she'll be biting you.http://i25.tinypic.com/npj5ts.jpg
Marcina
My boyfriend and I have a cat that tends to bite sometimes. When we first got him from the shelter he bit us a lot more than he does now. He rarely bites anymore. His previous owners declawed him so that was his way of communicating I guess. He's a sweet cat. He's the siamese I'm holding in the picture. He loves being held and going for walks.

Im Your Man
Here's my cat Mylene, a few days ago, when she was pregnant... and she got 2 babies today! I arrived at home and there was 2 kittens, then I went out again for 20 minutes and there was a third one! All of them are black, which is good because I usually wear black clothes. I'm gonna take pictures of the kittens when they grow bigger, now they look like mice. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh240/organicspiral/IMG_3075.jpg More photos I took of my cats and friend's cats:http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=50599432&albumId=1736726

Flare
I just want to advise to put off the neckbands! It could end like this http://www.bellas-viecherlseite.de/harli1.jpghttp://hometown.aol.de/niedlichetatze/floh_halsband004.jpghttp://hometown.aol.de/niedlichetatze/floh_halsband002.jpg The vetenary federation for animal protection in Germany classifies neckbands as adverse, bells on it as animal cruelty. They have no sense but could be very dangerous. And bells are absolute stressful for that acute hearing of cats.
inteja
Gross pics Flare, but yes I take your point. We stopped using collars shortly after those photos were taken because Gracie especially tended to get tangled up in hers. They have all been microchipped now so collars are no longer necessary for identification if they get lost.
