  1. I've altered between high-raw and 100% raw for the last 5 years. Doing a few weeks of 100% now (high-fruit of course).

    Whenever I hit a detox, I lose strength, but a few days later, after detox, I bounce back stronger than before.

     

    But whatever you do, the best recovery food is fruit.

  2. Avocados are fruit. Nuts and seeds are excepted on 811 in small amounts.

     

    "Primates consume large amounts of greens." So? 811rs eat more greens than anyone else(except some, like DR -doesn't seem to slow his times down)

     

    Why link the Justin Morgan video? It was his opinion which concerned fat-loss. Muscle loss only happens with under-eating or lack of use.

     

    I never said Michael Arnstein was an example of muscular.

    The most common reason for strength loss is actually energy loss from eating less calories, which is common, as fruit takes up a lot more room for its calories. Put your diet into Cronometer.com and see if you're eating enough.

  4. I have trouble gaining muscle, and can't run(weak legs from injury).

    But they say drumming is athletic, requiring stamina and aerobic capacity. Well, I must be in good shape

    Cutting calories isn't needed for fat-loss. And it looks like your body-fat is already low.

     

    Cutting calories can ultimately make you fat. See my vid: Calories don't make you fat:

     

     

    And, fat's not the only thing preventing the ripped look. There's water retention(often mistaken for fat). And people differ in why they retain water. But one thing is for sure: never get dehydrated; drink a gallon of water daily. And eat less dry foods.

     

    Also try simpler eating: fruit by itself, less heavy foods.

  6. The Right foods (as in natural? ; not for Building) are the ones for our physiology(primate):

     

    small amount of seeds and beans

    mostly fruit and veg

     

    But who's gonna eat like that, so your better off with grains(the non gluten) and beans, than meat and high-fat foods.

  8. I've heard of Elliot. This guy is a typical anti-veg meat-head. Listen to this for a minute:

     

    Society has it all wrong about weight loss. The body will revert to normal when you follow nature:

     

    * Make sure you're hydrated; helps the body lose the fat. And, that fat could be water retention, caused be getting dehydrated.

    * Carbs and fat get in each others way and can make the body store fat. Eat high-carb, low-fat as nature intended

    * Eat MORE calories, not less

  9. I've been thinking about this issue because of recent events:

     

    * California (my state) almost passed a labeling law.

     

    * The US Gov did pass the "Monsanto protection act", giving them immunity against law-suits

     

    * The protests. It showed what can be done with organizing.

     

    I think it's time to stop thinking and complaining, and ask how we end this?

    What do you think is the best way to stop GMO's. At the least, I'm going to post and make video's about it:

    With 80% of people against GMO's, we should organize. Power in numbers.

    And don't you fools know by now - that'll only bring out the 811rs, and our passion, to promote it more.

     

    AND, it's sad that - in 5 pages - detox wasn't agreed to be the obvious problem for Paige(and puffy, bloated VE). But this isn't a health forum.

     

    (Yea, I'm stirred up; it's really called for. It's frustrating to see people (not to mention; vegans) behaving this way). OK, I'm cool now....

    The 811 diet is not just fruit. Common mis-conception(there's a LOT of those). Also, everything has fat and protein. Nature wouldn't make that mistake

     

    I'm now at 2 years 4 months eating the natural human diet: 80/10/10 (for 7 months it's been 90/5/5, and I look fabulous; not a wrinkle in sight at age 43)

     

    ...and getting stronger on low-protein(all I need, I conclude. That's real life. 811rs are Real living proof. And like I said here 2 years ago: "You four keep trying to destroy 811, but you can't stop this!!"

  11. 10k runs, ...makes you burn Calories and lose muscles.

    Tell that to the Fruitarian that just won the Vermont ultra-marathon (100 miles).

     

    Michael Arnstien runs 150 miles a week. He eats 70-100 grams of protein a day.

     

    The key is, he eats enough carbs that fuel the muscle. Fruit after a workout gets stored as glucose easier, in the muscles. Muscle only gets used up if that glucose runs out.

     

    Protein doesn't save muscle. Too much protein gives the body extra work to metabolize and remove.

    Damn right!!! That is a good thing. Dr's are NOT nutritionists or dietitians. Doug is a RESEARCHER with a PhD

    he doesn't know a damn thing about what people should or shouldn't be eating

    He wrote the book on it.

    Most of what he says is just dangerous and people need to stop promoting it.

    People have been saying that for years; and trying to squelsh the 811 talk. But it's only increased! Why?

     

    1. Nature has proven this as natural, and therefore, works.

    2. What works, grows in popularity.

    3. Doug stands the test of time: 30 years on 811.

    . Hardly anyone Doug's age can do those exercises. NO other rawfood "gurus" could even remotely come close to doing that on their high fat/fruit-phobic diets.

     

    I've been lifting weights on 811 for 2 years, and getting better all around. I'm 43(most people my age are falling apart now)

  14. He was on radio's "Coast2Coast" which has 10 million listeners. He described how carbs cause blood spikes and dips, leading to deficiency in testosterone.

     

    On his website he lay's out a healthy diet: eggs, meat, and has a section called "nuts are our friends"

    Here's my letter:

     

    I'd like to suggest not having Dr John Grey as a guest anymore. He's a psychologist who said some false things about nutrition and biology. He's not a dietitian, but on his site, he's promoting an Atkins-type diet high in fats of all kind - that is detrimental to peoples' health, and scares them away from a natural, healthy diet. As a health expert, I found his anti-carbohydrate comments upsetting.

     

    I guess there's no way to keep the show free of out-right lies, but can't something be done? At least filter out anyone promoting a low-carb diet - the proof it's bad is the fact that humans are fueled by carbs; and nature's foods are more carbs than anything else.....

    The reason people defend the obviously indefensible is because they are wrong or feel guilty. I've noticed, people do this at every level of healthy eating: defending their level by putting down the next level up:

     

    Meat-eaters put down vegetarianism

    vegetarians put down veganism

    vegans put down raw-foodism

    raw-foodists put down low-fat raw-foodists

  16. I'm one of the few that went vegan for health - actually I gravitated towards plant-food, and never got around to meat again.

     

    I respect ethical vegans, but getting them to understand what's unhealthy is like talking with meat-eaters(still addicted to junk)

     

    16 years after "going" vegan, I finally got to a diet healthy enough to make me feel great. Not sure if I'm alowed to say the numeric name, but for a hint, see today's date.

    Gold will - without my help - once again become mainstream money when the economy collapses. I just want vegans (the best people - mostly ) to get in early, so as to have more influence in the new world.

     

    Gold's gone up 15% in the last 5 months.

    1. figuring out the last pieces of the puzzle

    2. Setting everything up

    3. 2010 is the year I make contact with the results: fitter, stronger, and more energy.

  20. The 1st man was speaking "anecdotally" - I'm guessing he's saying what he's heard from veg*ns. I've noticed, a lot of veg*ns believe in the protein myth. We're ALL taught it. Some of them are right here on this forum.

     

    Some people have a hard time after going vegan. They're un-aware that they're having a hard time with adjustment and detox.

  21. There are a lot of names for the change that's happening. Whatever you want to call it, a change is starting. And if you're not ready, the shift will hit the fan.

     

    Here's how I think we can avoid difficulty, and even benefit from this new era:

     

    - Get out of the program they gave you, and be part of the solution - the evolution.

    - Turn off the news, and talk shows (except Ellen) and Align yourself with the real (natural) world

    - Sleep as soon after dark as you can.

    - Decide to become a joyous person, and spread joy, friendliness, and helpful-ness into the world.

    - Ignore the ego; it's not on your side.

    - Buy local.

    - Eat simple and natural.

     

    We can be the change we're looking for.

     

    The Depression: Getting through it OK

     

    I've worked in the Real Estate field since 2003 and have kept up on the crisis, studied surviving a depression, and know enough to own gold and silver for when the fake paper money collapses.

     

    I want to give this advice to all you healthy/ethical eaters to help you come out of the crisis in good shape and continue setting a good example for veganism.

     

    A lot of people don't realize this crisis was predicted. There were books on the shelves in 2003 warning of a depression.

     

    There's been a 'superficial' economy since gold was removed from backing paper money in 1965. Once the gov was out of this rule for having something of value to stand for paper IOU's, they started over-printing money to compensate for our un-balanced society. They've been covering up the inflation ever since. Now it's finally collapsing.

     

    Gold & Silver: original money...

    ....and it always becomes more valuable during recessions. They've been the best investment in the last few years. Silver's the best deal right now if you can get it below $15 an ounce ("spot" price). And DO NOT SELL anything silver or gold. Wait till things get REAL bad; when it will be used as currency.

     

    If you have time, you can find silver coins. Get rolls (or boxes) from banks. Here's the criteria of what to look for

     

    US dimes, quarters, halfs and silver-dollars up until 1965. They have an 80% silver content.

    - and 1965-69 half which had a 40% silver content.

     

    Real Estate

     

    Don't sell your home near the bottom. Depending on how inflated your area, home values will drop 30-60% over a 2-5 year period.(no joke; this is bigger than the gov or media would ever say).

     

    So if values were at a peak 3 years ago in your area, it's better to sell now then later.

     

    The public's been 'asleep' at the wheel, living larger than natural, while government + Banks used the people for their own benefit. Now, nature is making an adjustment.
