  1. Yeah, mercola is a bit wonky most of the time. I don't have a cell phone...and anyway, I'm not a big fan of microwaves but once a week or so I defrost food in it...
  2. Do microwaves kill the nutrients in food? I've read that it might be the case but not really sure. Do people have any reliable sources of information on this? Scientifically validated studies?
  3. Chalk it up to the lucky young male racehorse ectomorphic metabolism! Lucky you!!!
  4. agree -- food need not be so complicated
  5. really, how so? What is the physiology behind that? Just curious.
  6. this gravity-centred thing = is there still a tube up your butt?
  7. could 'too much' protein cause GI issues?
  8. The chunk light has a lot less mercury than the albacore. The stuff I have is packed in water...
  9. Thanks. I've tried so many 'cleansing' things that I can't possibly have much left in me I have been in pretty much constant agony for a good week now, but before that at least half the time, for 10 years. I see my doctor again tomorrow....sigh.
  10. Oh, andesuma - you don't raw veggies tough to digest? THat's always been hard for me. I steam things lightly and it's so much easier on my poor guts...
  11. Wow!!! If you can sustain that kind of activity on your diet, then I owe it to myself to try something like that. I'm all for the sorts of foods you eat (and do eat a lot of stuff like that, which most of society would consider bizarre - but what do they know ) Maybe I am overconsuming protein and it's causing me grief. I've been indoctrinated into the "i lift weights so I need 1g/lb of body mass in protein per day" I was actually afraid to get less than that because I have managed to build a fair amount of muscle (that's an old avatar, I'm not so bony in the back anymore...) but hey, I'm sure I could do just as well on less protein and more carbs? I do eat a ton of veggies already...and I love them I really thought it was necessary. But if you and Brendan B can live on that -- maybe I can too. I know I'm not 'technically' supposed to eat hemp on my diet but i do - most seeds are 'allowed' and my doctor and i agreed to just eat the hemp. Can you post the recipe for your sesame seed pate??
  12. Do you get hungry much? All that sounds yummy. Do you make your own pate? and not to be rude - but isn't hemp protein processed? not that I think that's bad - you said you were trying to avoid it. I have this idea that i perhaps need to get away from -- that i need more protein than your typical diet provides. Do you do a lot of sports/weights? I find citrus doesn't agree with me too much - but I do love it...
  13. Can you please provide examples of what you DO eat?' Thanks. I don't eat any of those either, no soy, wheat, gluten, rice, grains, beans, (unless fresh green beans in a salad), no corn. no vinegar, & more recently.. nothing fermented, no stimulants (raw cacao's out), eventually I'd also like to eliminate spicy foods as well.. (garlic, ginger, etc.), since..if you think about it, humans are the only ones that consume these things, animals in nature and even children will strongly reject spicy foods! (currently, I only consume garlic occassionally) Also, it is difficult on the digestive system. I am also raw vegan. And I feel like I eat plenty of food! 99.9% of the food on this earth is raw plant matter, be creative with your options! The basic philosophy behind my diet, is to not consume anything that has gone thru some unnatural process. Which also means limited to/no consumption of dehydrated foods. My best advice would to be learn as much as you possibly can about proper food combining, and maybe try a colonic of two Good luck!
  14. what I am saying is any bean makes me feel like CRAP. I like them but I can't eat them.
  15. oh, and if i WERE a vegan, what WOULD i eat...broccoli and fruit?
  16. I do~ I'm not trying to be difficult here...but when I say I tried it all -- I think I really have!!!
  17. Is that the "natural allergy elimination technique (NAET)"? I've heard about that.
  18. have been tested for parasites in the past...nothing. no grains so that definitely rules out wheat and gluten I cook everything myself from scratch. Nothing processed, from a box, jar, etc. I use whole food exclusively. My condiments are spices...and maybe the odd splash of vinegar. I don't eat anything CLOSE to the 'SAD' diet.
  19. they can diagnose allergies from that?I've had stool samples done to determine certain things but nothing ever came out of it. Not much fun, either
  20. I eat: spinach, kale, cooked squash and carrots tuna fish sesame oil/olive oil/avocado some nut butters mmm....some cooked fruit once in a while (can't eat raw fruit or it's hell to pay -- e.g. pear/apple)...occasionally - a banana Most of my meals consist of protein, vegetables and some fat. Yes, boring. But eggs are out, so are lentils, so are beans, so are peanuts, corn, all grains, potatoes, sweet potatoes (the diet I follow forbids disaccharides and I do noted some improvement so I go with it) ... I eat no sugar. Some honey once in a while.
  21. No, I'm not a vegan...I eat some fish. I don't do dairy. I would starve, as a vegan, with no protein...since I can't really eat beans and my diet does not allow soy. Selfish, I know but I'll be honest at least.
  22. If you do have a chance, might be interesting to find out what lab this is. Is it a blood test or something? Thanks, Harley
  23. I haven't eaten beans in ages!!!
  24. No. I take a whack of supplements though (vitamins). This problem started years ago (before I took any supplements at all, which have helped a lot of other issues).
