  1. aaron, right - I agree. But green tea can't be a water substitute...
  2. Well we can say it...I just think someone thought I was being nasty in my roundabout way of saying it.
  3. I wouldn't count green tea as water intake, though...it has caffeine and is therefore a diuretic. I think you should count only water and herbal as water intake. Green tea actually requires you to have MORE water since the caffeine is a diuretic - isn't that right?
  4. Crash, I think I love you. Let's write an article "Lean legs: Get off the adductor/abductor machine and step away from the donuts".
  5. Those machines aren't very useful at all. Overall bodyfat reduction is key, as well as squats and lunges...

    cold + water

How much water? This is hard.
  7. I thought you had to know your weight to make a weight class! Anyway, you look absolutely perfect. Once again, I'm floored.
  8. Hot hot HOT!!! All that without meat or animal products or "other supplements". You look more incredible than just about anyone I've ever seen. You should be the vegan poster child. How much did you weigh there...and how tall are you ? Oh, it's not a "vegan-only" comp, is it? I'm guessing no. Congrats. Absolutely outstanding!!
  9. You're right, DW, but I was just joking. I edited my original post...didn't mean to put it down, I just didn't find it particularly tasty. Definitely fills a gap out there though and it is a healthy drink. And I called it a protein-MEAL REPLACEMENT powder - I know it's a lot more than just protein.
  10. If Daywalker isn't counting, maybe you don't have to... But so many competitive bb-ers are obsessed with counting everything: protein, carbs, fat, total cals... Is it really not that important? How do you know what to adjust if you don't know where the numbers are? I'm trying to learn here...
  11. I'/ve just tried something that I had to share. It is sooo good! People here may have tried Pure Trim and if not, I recommend it. It's pricy but it is vegan and full of all sorts of healthy things. It is creamy, thick and delicious and makes me feel like I am having something I shouldn't be. I practically feel guilty eating the whole thing at once... I have tried a lot of shakes, both vegan and non-vegan and so many of them are either gross or make me feel ill because of the ingredients that upset my stomach. Puretrim does none of that...and I won't mention a brand name but it is sooo much better than the other protein meal-replacement powder out there If you are seeking soemthing new give it a try. I had the vanilla but I hear the chocolate rocks a lot of people's worlds as well.
  12. Not morally wrong but I'd hesitate to endorse it if you're trying to lose fat and maintain muscle. Why 1200? That's pretty low!
  13. Yikes. To the original poster: I think your plans all sound very reasonable. But i don't see the reason to cut caffeine. Just drink TONS of water and coffee is fine to have. DOn't deprive yourself of that greatest thing ever! After that weight session make sure to have some good carbs as well. Good luck - you'll be smokin'!
  14. Well, I purchased the book and this weekend will start the process for making my very own homemade sprout bread. In just 4 short days I might have my first loaf!
  15. This thread has certainly taken some interesting direction...all because of a recipe for pasta sauce
  16. I understand protein is important but I also feel a lot of fitness enthusiasts over-promote it... Daywalker, Hero, Tarz and Robert, et al - you guys with the muscle Do you count your protein grams eaten per day? If so, what is the amount you eat relative to your lean mass? Many thanks.
  17. Strapping Tarz to a chair? I'd be pleased to give up my valuable time to help. Selfless, that's me.
  18. Interesting thread. My birthday was Nov. 11! Did I put it in my profile wrong? I must check. I appreciate the good wishes, everyone! Have a wonderful day. EDIT: Now I am thoroughly confused as I see it's not in my profile at all. How did this birthday thing come up?
  19. Grossest stuff ever. Marmite is also MEAT extract. Not for you guys! EDIT: I WAS WRONG. it's veggie.
  20. Thanks - what other foods do the "completing"..rice, for instance? This is day 2 of me eating no animal products. Ever since I read a comment about eggs coming from a chicken's butt (thanks, TARZ)...It is just not appealing...
  21. hi, is soy a complete protein? HOw about hemp? I know beans aren't "complete' and need rice or something else to make it the complete sort of protein. NOt too informed on this issue. Can anyone here enlighten me?
  22. Thanks. I've actually done similar stuff with soy milk myself. It turned out good. A bit of dry mustard can be tasty.
