  2. I LOVE coleslaw. THANKS sean.
  3. yes, i was gonna say. GO after the whole place for possible fraud. Stick to this, pursue this like an aggresively pit bull - sink your teeth into this and dont let go until Justice is served. I am positive that they have been ripping ppl off for a while now - just either nobody noticed or nobody bothered to take them to the labour board - UNTIL NOW! I actually have a labour law exam this Friday so I better get back to it! You have given me instant motivation to kick ass on my labour law exam!!!!
  4. When you call or write, please mention that this news is spreading all over the internet like wildfire and the world is watching! THis poor man is dying so act quickly, please. Imagine if he was your loved one? YOu would want the vegans all over the world to contact this jail and the sherriff to save this man's life!!! ______________________________ Please take a moment to call the sheriff, or at least e-mail. 5. Absolutely! The only thing though vegangirl2006 is it is probably a better idea to keep detailed track of all hours you are owed and were docked, and then file you complaint AFTER you resign from that job. The statutory limitation period here for labour claims is 6 months, so you will have time - I assume you are not going to be working here for that much longer anyway? So keep track, smile at work as if nothing was wrong, and then go get your justice when you leave or things can get pretty uncomfortable there once management finds out you have gone to the labour board. Believe me, if your labour board is anything like it is here, it will NOT look to kindly on a multimiliion dollar corp scamming people making a meagre living out of money that is rightfully owed to them! Key is top document everything meticulously as you have been doing. And, hopefully, the labour board screws your bastard manager bigtime, that little unethical prick. Another reason to hate McDonalds - they not only kill animals by the BILLIONS per year, and they not only pay people shitty wages, but then they screw hardoworking people out of the tiny money that they do claim to pay them !!!! Unbelievable I am so pissed. INJUSTICE makes me sick, whether it is to people or animals Well, this little story of yours just made me realize that I want to name any future child I may have "Justice". The world certainly needs more of those!
  6. OMG i was so distracted by the bowling ball stuck in his bicep that I missed the definition in the tricep Nice.
  7. Tyson’s sales tumble amid meat safety fears 21/04/2006- Tyson Foods revealed Wednesday that plummeting demand for beef and chicken has impacted sales, as international BSE, arsenic and avian flu scares dent consumer confidence. America’s largest meat producer has reduced its yearly profit forecast, indicating weaker than expected operating performance and sluggish earnings. “While we expected tough and uncertain conditions...it has been far more difficult than we previously projected,” CEO John Tyson said Wednesday in a statement. “Protein supplies have remained more burdensome than anticipated and will continue to put pressure on product price recovery. “We still expect an improved performance in the last half of fiscal 2006; however it will not be of the magnitude originally projected.” Many analysts are now forecasting year-end losses for the firm struggling to maintain margins as domestic oversupply of meat, export restrictions and lowered consumer confidence create difficult market conditions. With sales of over $26bn (€21bn), Tyson is the world's largest protein processor with operations in beef, chicken and pork, as well as branded packaged foods. But while US beef exports to Japan and South Korea remain restricted due to fears of BSE contamination, and domestic consumers are shying away from chicken following bird flu media hype, the outlook remains bleak for the food processor. Moody’s ratings firm has put the company in review for a possible downgrade, concerned that the company’s “weak operating performance will impact its debt protection measures and financial flexibility”. The review will also assess whether the manufacturer will “require additional financial covenant relief from its bank group [which could] impact on the company's liquidity,” and “the likelihood that Tyson will be able to restore its debt protection measures and overall financial profile to levels appropriate for its current rating.” And Fitch Ratings has branded Tyson’s outlook as negative, predicting a net loss in earnings for the company in 2006. Fitch claims the manufacturer is experiencing severe margin compression in its largest division, chicken, and the current “glut in the protein market” will slow down any possible recovery. A study earlier this month by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP) revealed that arsenic has been found in chicken meat on sale in US supermarkets – further impacting Tyson’s fortunes. At least 70 per cent of American broiler chickens have been fed arsenic, according to their estimates. And though plenty of the raw chicken tested had either none or nearly no detectable arsenic, including most chicken tested from the world's largest producer Tyson, sales have been impacted as consumers lose faith in modern meat-rearing practices. http://www.foodanddrinkeurope.com/ne...tyson-beef-bse
  8. I cant. I gotta get back to my books, and then pass out at 8 pm (hopefully). Miss you Alex
  9. Oooohhh now you got war my friend, bring it on. jj
  10. P.S. Have you tried almond milk? I find most people prefer almond to rice milk. P.P.S. Have you checked out all our emoticons yet? This one is my favourite I think: (Ill take any excuse to post that emoticon!!!!!)
  11. If you "know", then you probably should have left that part out. But other than the puss part of your recipe (if you dont know what I mean please visit www.milksucks.com), looks great! Looking forward to trying it sugapablo, and thanks for sharing it with us!
  12. Well then I think you would awesomely represent compassionate bodybuilding! I am totally cheering you (and all our other fine VB&F bodybuilders) on.
  13. hey Nik, I tried to find them onlone too, but I couldnt. But there number (or the number of the distributor) is 1-888-841-3234. I too am leaning more these days towards mixing my own creams and serums, but where would we be able to get stuff like DHEA, or Hyd...Acid, etc.? Also, I am still stuggling with how could I combine my viatmin C and water serum with my avocado oil, since oil and water dont mix - wouldnt i need some kind of binding agent? Yes, I have noticed that there is powder still on my face when I just mix it right in with the oil with no water, but see my dilemma just above? Also, even if the powder actually doesnt get absorbed, doesnt your skin suck the beneficial properties of the powder into the skin layers nevertheless? QUICK TIP FOR ALL: When peeling and cutting citrus fruits, dont wash your hands of the sticky fruit juices - put it on your face!
  14. Will, I cant recall if you said you were thinking of bodybuilding? Seriously, you are lookin' fine, with some serious guns.
  15. Crashnburn, Regarding your argument "to some extent NOT EVERY PERSON ON THE PLANET CAN BE VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN. WHY? The world wont be able to support us." You are obviously very misinformed on the environmental impact of animal produce consumption and the "logistics" of veganism. Veganism is not only sustainable, but more sustainable than omnivorism or vegetarianism. Even mainstream environmental organizations are starting to admit that, so you really dont have a leg to stand on with that argument. If you are genuinely interested in these issues, and wish to form an informed opinion, then you may want to consider reading John Robbins "Food Revolution", among others. For a detaled discussion of the feasibility and viability of an organic, veganic agriculture, and one which thoughtfully considers the counterarguments, see. for example, Mark Gold's piece in a book called "The Meat Business: Devouring a Hungry Planet" The theory of organic, plant-based agriculture is not science fiction or fantasy. If only the vast resource of human intelligence and ingenuity that is squandered on projects such as developing weapons of mass destruction were instead focussed passionately on developing a compassionate and rational food-producing policy, there is no reason why the world could not move rapidly towards a veganic agriculture. And by the way, telling us to respect that action or activity of eating meat, especially factory farmed meat, is like me telling you to respect somebody else's action of physically harming another animal, human or non. Since when does freedom of choice include the moral right to cause suffering to other sentient and innocent beings? If you were walking down the street and saw somebody violently kicking a helpless kitten, would you judge that as "wrong" or "unethical" and interfere, or would you say "Well, buddy, that is your choice. To each his own!", and merrily resume your walk, proud that you RESPECTED HIS "CHOICE"? I got so sidetracked by your weak arguments and misinformation that I forgot what I was originallly looking for in this thread. Oh ya, this is what: let me point out that not one person has "bashed" you on this board, notwithstanding your continuous suggestions to the contrary. I am very proud of this online community indeed. What a bunch of fantastic people. And I notice also that you havent responded to my question posed above, and I would really appreciate one: If you respect and revere cows, like you say, then that is all the more reason to boycott American dairy, unless you find the kind of farm that Will mentioned. What is your response to this?
  16. NIK: Have you tried any of those products on that link you posted? Can you offer some testimonials? Thanks. Also, what is there animal testing animal ingredients policy? DIdnt see it. They mention that oil based moisturizing isnt that great, that oil doesnt actually moisturize, only water can. So then avocado oil or even jojoba oils are not effective in skin care? I am confused now.
  17. There you go, you can now have a happy stomach without supporting America's unethical dairy industry, where cows are far from revered. And I agree with the Amy's fans. Good frozen line of foods.
  18. Michael, how does this compare to vega in your well informed opinion?
  19. Yup, that pisses me off to no end. Sports getting so much coverage and important issues rarely get covered. Canadians from all across the country are complaining that "foreigners" are telling us how to live (ie. "Canada, stop killing baby seals!" campaigns all over the world). Most Canadian that responded to Pam Anderson's Juno awards hosting said things like "Stop telling us what to do." __________________________________________________________ SO let me get this straight, Canada. You think that you are above moral scrutiny? That criticizing you for your immoral activities is off limits somehow? Yet you have no problem, Canada, criticizing China for its appalling treatment of cats and dogs for "fake fur", or China's private zoos where injured cows and calves are eaten alive by hungry lions that are turned loose on them in a ring, all while spectators pay to see this and watch in sick sadistic ecstacy? Give me a break you hypocrites! Stop whining and start getting real - the seal massacre is as immoral as setting puppies on fire, and I am sure you would not hesitate in interfering with that activity if you saw it happening before your eyes. Go and educate yourselves on the real deal with the seal slaughter, and stop buying into govnt propoganda, you hypocritical ignoramuses. The world has ever right to criticize and boycott us for our mass murder of innocent life. "Stop telling us what to do" arguments are so pathetic. ________________________________________________________ okay now THAT was a rant, and it is over.
  20. While I am no sports medicine doc, I think that if you go lower, than that paralel you mentionm above, that would put too much stress on the knees and is a BAD idea.
  21. CRASH: In case I didnt answer your question (too lazy to scan my posts above), You can get avocado oil at any health food store that sells essential oils or natural skin care products.
  22. Wow Nik, that was great input! YOu sound like you have been researching this stuff for a while. So what do you think about the VIVA anti-aging serum I described above then? Every single ingredient in it seems to be beneficial, and it is preserved in a base of rosehip oil and whole lemon extract - so even its preservatives of choice have potent anti-aging properties. And what I like about it is that it is no animal testing and vegan, so no worries on the source of its hyaluronic acid. Yes, obviously many of these things can be taken internally, and being vegan, we are all taking care of our bodies from the inside, but it is also nice to apply these things topically directly onto the skin, like that vitamin C recipe. By the way, with respect to mixing it with water and making a serum out of it that way, this is what the lady advised exactly: "Scientific research has shown that vitamin C stimulates and actually speeds up the regeneration of collagen-producing fibroblasts that make up the capillaries and membranes of the skin tissue. Knowing this, I always felt that vitamin C would be incredibly beneficial if applied directly to the skin. The problem here has been that unlike vitamins E and A, which are oil-soluble and are thus able to hold their potency in skin care products, vitamin C is water-soluble and loses its potency through evaporation. For my own personal use and the use of my students and clients, I devised my own solution, which is to buy a jar of natural buffered vitamin C powder and mix it into my scrubs, masks, creams and cleansing products. The important thing to remember is that you have to take a portion of the skin care product from the jar, pour it into a dish, add approximately one-eigth teaspoon of vitamin C powder per one teaspooon of product, and mix and apply the product immediately. YOu cant save it until the next day or the potency will go bye-bye. This extra effort is a small price to pay for the results you will experience. I have seen a definite new firmness and strength in my own skin tissue, as well as in the skin of clients of mine who have done this. ..I have even had tiny broken capillaries right under the surface of the skin disappear with this treatment." So I dont understand why you think we should mix the vitamin C with water first? I guess i would do that, then apply this water/vitamin mixture on my face, and THEN appky my avocaco oil on top of that??? Now I am thinking of buying some rosehip extract and adding that to my "potion" after what you said about it Also, what is this "olive squalene" that you mention? Is that just regular olive oil? I too cant sleep on my back, even though I want to so badly because I HATE knowing that I am constantly stretching my facial skin straight through the night. I start on my back, and within minutes I simply cant resist the urge to turn to my side, and then a few minutes after that the urge to turn onto my stomach. I always say "I will start sleeping on my back tomorrow night. Tonight is my last night on my stomach." Facial exercises - i agree. that sounds meritorious, like Crash suggested, but I cant see myself aving the discpipline or pateince for it. Which is too bad for me, because I really am not too keen on my laugh lines, which you can see in my avatar. Regarding the avocado oil, my skin hasnt turned green yet but I disagree with you on the smell. The kind I use has NO scent to it, which is why I like it. I can have all the nourishing benefits of it, without a salad or even a grease smell, and it wont clog my pores and potentially cause a break out (although I think jojoboa is non-comedogenic too). I had purchased wheat germ oil before that and oh my god the smell of it was horrible! Jojoba is more expensive than avocado so for now, it will have to be avocado. WHen I cna afford it, I will buy both oils and mix them which I think would make the ultimate skin nourisher and moisturizer, especially with a lil vitamin C powder mixed in.
  23. Will, I like your new avatar. Nice guns! Damn you have come such a long way; you look really healthy, big and strong. But I miss the pic of your son already.
