  1. Ok heres the scoop... I weigh 147 right now and I plan on fighting by the end of the year. I want to gain at least 10lbs. So i can be bigger and just cut down to 145 for the featherweight division. Now cardio is very important in MMA cause you have to last 2-3 3 min rounds. Sounds like nothing but when youre going full force it can get exhausting. The main thing i need to know is if the cardio is going to slow down my muscle mass gain. Maybe i should try and gain and then work on my cardio a month or so before my fight. I dunno, any suggestions would be great. Also i printed off a few of Roberts meal suggestions for gaining weight and i plan on making up a meal schedule soon.
  2. Is anybody excited about the Arlovski VS Silvia fight? Personally i dont have much interest in it. However, I am excited about the Ortiz VS Shamrock 2 fight. I bet Shamrock looks the same as in the first bout.
  3. I actually had tears in my eyes. Then I went to my comp and watched Matt Hughes V. BJ Penn over and over and over. Then I felt better. Thats funny That BJ Penn VS Matt Hughes fight was a good one. Also i hope George St. Pierre tears through Matt Hughes next time for the welterweight title match!
  4. darth, seeing that you hate Matt Hughes, what did you think of the Matt Hughes VS Royce Gracie fight? I have to say i was pretty dissapointed in the outcome.
  5. I have to say that honestly excites me. I wonder what made Dana White change his mind. Anyways thats really awesome.
  6. [quote="ronnie kray and i was surprised to see Lil Evil say he is coming back to the UFC. i'd like to see him back in action. Little Evil is coming back??? Awesome. Too bad Dana White doesnt really want to build up the 155 lbers. So we wont see too much of him. I dont really understand why either. Id much rather see 2 155 lb fighter fight then 2 205 lbers fight. I mean personally im not even interested in the Arlovski vs Silvia 2 fight. I cant wait to see Otiz beat down Shamrock though.
  7. In my opinion BJJ is the most practical. I mean 90% of fights go to the ground. And if someone takes you there its awesome to know what to do because in Jiu Jitsu you live on the ground. Greta work out too! 90% of fights may go to the ground, but BJJ isn't very practical outside of the ring. The last thing you want to do in a street fight is pull guard. I completely disagree with that statement. And in Jiu Jitsu you dont just pull guard. In any fight you can just take it to the ground say get knee mount and punch the crap out of them. Or say they are on top, put them in a triangle choke, not tight enough to make them pass out, and punch em at will. BJJ is more practical then karate or kung fu. Hands down.

  9. Im still a white belt. I still have some time before i think ill be at blue belt level. Hopefully not too long though. How long have you been training darth?
  10. Oh yea most def. In Roseburg we have a Midnight Madness feature where you can see one of the movies the Thursday night before it comes out. Next week is Superman which im looking forward to. And the week after next is pirates of the Caribbean II. We are def going to see Pirates at Midnight Madness. I can guarantee its going to be busy so i guess me and jes will have to get there a couple hours early. Its gonna be great!
  11. I decided to start this thread for all you movie buffs out there. I dont know if everybody else goes to the movies that much. But me and my wife go pretty regularly. So if you have anything to add, Lets hear it. Last week we saw "Nacho Libre." And honestly i loved it. Jack Black did a awesome job. Though he was just being his crazy self, but none the less he was helarious. Last night we went and saw "Click." And i was suprisingly pleased with this one. I mean I thought it was going to be allright but it turned out better than i thought. I dont want to go into too much detail just in case anybody is planning on going to watch it. But theres a scene in it that was def hard hitting, emotional wise. Enough said. Over all i liked it.
  12. I was thinking about something. Pretty much no matter how good either of these fighters do, we will more than likely see each of them in the UFC. Only 2 of them can win the contract but we'll still see the losers again.

    Hi, there!

Dang Trevor its about time you got onto here. Good to see that you are though Brent
  15. I think Herman VS Kendall is going to be a pretty even match up. So i think it will be a great fight. In the end i think Ed Herman will take the win. As far as Josh VS Bisping, to me it looks a little lopsided. I think Bisping will just tear through him no problem.
  16. The numbered and bold things are to make it easier to know what im talking about #1- If all the UFC was was a barfight then there would be no ref..no one to jump in when a fighter is in danger or not inteligently defending himself. You would be able to use any tactic possible to win. Be it head butts, fish hooking, groin shots, strikes to the back of the head/spine etc. Also all the rules show how organized it really is. Barfight..psch B.S! #2- Id rather watch the worst UFC fight then watch any boxing match period. Sure Boxing has their great fighters but personally boxing bores the hell out of me. #3- Its a whole different game. Thats like saying Cricket players would cream Baseball players if they played with the Cricket rules.I mean come one. And if a boxer were to play by the MMA fighters rules he would be out in 20 secs. Id like to see any top Boxer take on any of our champs and play by the MMA rules. It would be no contest. #4- I completely agree with this statement. Also I would bet half my wages that the UFC has taken off alot faster then Boxing did. As far as buyrate that is. Granted technology has made it alot easier but i still think that MMA blows Boxing away. Anyways there MY rant for the day.
  17. Matt really did look like he was in slow motion. I missed the show last night but i went on to spiketv.com and watch some of the second round. And it looked like they both had been going for like 10 rounds. I just figured they both went hard in the first round and tired themselves out. After watching everybody fight im thinking i want Bisping and Kendall to win.
  18. I just went to UFC.com and watched his post fight interview. He really is a terrible interview. His interview was about 1/3 as long as Matt Hughes
  19. I hardly think that the middle weight devision is softer on talent. I mean you have Dave Terrell, Chris Leben, Patrick Cote, Dennis Hallman, David Loiseau, and Evan Tanner. I dont know why they arent doing more title fights in the middle weight division. Id personally like to see Rich Franklin fight again. Rich Franklins last fight was against David Loiseau in UFC 58. So really not too long ago i guess.
  20. That did kinda suprise me when he said he was still going to fight some more. I figured since he lost he was going to give up MMA. So we'll see how well he does against other people.
  21. I had a feeling Matt was going to win but i didnt think he would dominate as much as he did. I mean Royce didnt really even go for a submission attempt. He was on the defense the whole time. Very dissapointing
  22. yea matt got a lucky arm bar off. I was pissed. I loved it when GSP caught matt with that spinning back kick and knocked him flying!
  23. I realize that sounds sarcastic. I didnt mean for it to be. Sorry!
