I'd like to sue my neighbors for spraying Round Up Ready every damn time the wind blows. You can plainly see...1/2 of my yard is stunted (just like thier's) & the other half is alive.

Here's another new but way cuter cycling story. Was riding in yesterday morning when Momma Mallard & her ducklings all decided to cross the bike path. Of course I stopped but it was very very sudden. Happy to report none of the ducks were hurt

Just would like to see what types of foods you're eating. Don't forget there are tons of micronutrient veg/fruits that the body needs to help absorb iron.

How California Could Force the Rest of the US to Label GMO Foods Here's a great link http://www.motherjones.com/tom-philpott/2012/05/california-gmo-labeling

Because GMOs have a bad reputation, whether they deserve it or not. Consumers avoid them because of the horror stories. Why would companies want to add a label that will cause their product to sell less? I'm personally in favor of comprehensive labeling, but I understand why companies would be reticent, and it doesn't need to have anything to do with safety. Just profit. Labeling _does_ confuse consumers. This is partly because manufacturers are deliberately hiding the less-attractive aspects of their products, but it's also because consumers have trouble contextualizing the numbers. People are constantly complaining about labeling: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41781646/ns/health-diet_and_nutrition/t/confusing-food-labels-can-hide-diet-hazards/ http://www.npr.org/2011/01/25/133218481/New-Food-Labels-May-Be-More-Confusing-Than-Helpful http://ebrandaid.com/nutrition-labels/ Again, If it's such a great product "Label It". I have the right to decide what I eat or NOT eat. For example: I don't eat meat. If a manufacturer doesn't want to label it as meat or change the name of meat Does that mean I would become confused & eat it? Of course not. I completely understand what you are saying. But I think most manufacturers go out of their way to mislead busy customers with false terms like "Natural". The best a person can do is read labels, ask questions & educate themselves about ingredients. I've noticed several nasties: Most bread now has L-cysteine = human hair or duck feathers http://www.naturalnews.com/032718_L-cysteine_commercial_bread.html Tomato Sauce: Spices= MSG Natural Flavores = anything including meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof I could go on & on

Nah, I eat everything fresh and raw. If there's a bumper crop of strawberries, then there's just gonna be a bumper crop of smoothies! The slugs and I have an understanding: I moved onto their land, so the garden belongs to both of us. They only eat a little. I use no chemicals of any kind. If something doesn't produce well in my garden then I just grow something else. It's hard to feel limited when you've got strawberries, scarlet runner beans, corn, pie pumpkin, zucchini, cilantro, parsley, chives, bell peppers, jalapenos, cantaloupe, sweet peas, potatoes, and watermelon. I'm suddenly hungry. Baby Herc I have no remorse for slugs. But if you ever do intend to can - use lots of liquore You will thank me on a Bitter Winter Night.

Oh yeah! We hit the Civil War Battlefields last weekend from South Mountain to Antietam. Did you know that 23,000 people were killed, missing or hurt on that day alone? You can't feel the history from your car - you have to get out there & sweat your butt off. http://www.nps.gov/ancm/index.htm

Those look amazing! Just curious, how do you eat your artichokes? Because I've been wanting to try them out, but I have no idea in what kind of dish/recipe they would taste good. Thanks I like them with Greek olives & Pine nuts. Basically I pull off the outer most leaves, then cut in half. Sprinkle 3 or 4 cap fulls of lemon (or juice of 1 fresh lemon) on top. Stick them in a pan w/EVOO, garlic & pine nuts then saute on grill. The trick is the chokes must be very young. If they are to old they are tough & you can't eat the flower inside. I hope that helps..

Very Nice! Are you going to try canning them? I canned a ton of fruit last year - it turned out great. If you've got a prob with slugs try Sluggo. It say's Organic on the container & I've been using it for years. http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_043V063733981000P?sid=KDx01192011x000001&srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=27-122491702-2

2012 has been anamazing year for my chokes - I've never seen them produce so many buds. Artichokes have 60 mg Magnesium or 15% of the body's needs. Since I've been eating 3 a night I've noticed that my heart rate plummets then I become completely relaxed. Did some web searching & check this link out! http://www.livestrong.com/article/449257-magnesium-slow-heart-rates/
