  1. 09:30 - 1/2 watermelon for breakfast 12:00 - 2 bananas and a handful of "raw" cashews 2 PM - I found myself craving something, I didn't know what, just looking for something to eat. I made my self a date/nut tort. 4 PM - Big bowl of spinach and several different spouts including my freshly sprouted lentils Topped with a homemade Caeser Dressing

  3. I'm no expert, hopefully somebody else will respond. Here is one website that I've found. http://www.sproutpeople.com/grow/sprouting.html Sprouts are very nutritious and inexpensive.
  4. Are there benefits to drinking fresh juiced carrots over eating the whole carrot? I like those mini organic carrots. But it seems like I just chew them and don't swallow. I need to tell myself to swallow, not sure why they don't just go down like everything else.
  5. Now I just need a recipe to make with them. I'm thinking some kind of hummus for my first attempt. I tried a few of the lentils and they aren't the best by themselves. Odd texture, which I can get over, but a bit too "green" flavored. Do the other colored lentils taste and feel about the same?
  6. I bought a small amount of wheatberries and garbonzos to see if they sprout They are currently still in the soaking cycle
  7. 08:00 - 2 bananas for breakfast 09:30 - 2 more bananas My first 2 bananas usually keep me going until almost 11:00 I was very hungry @ 09:30 I had the shakes. 12:30 - Big green salad for lunch. I ate at resturaunt so the dressing was cooked. 1/2 of a watermelon for supper 1 banana before evening workout 1 scoop of Vega after workout
  8. Wednesday - June 20 Squat Day I worked my way up to 185 and got 3 reps Dropped back down to 165 and did a few sets. Thursday - June 21 Arm Day Warmup with 30 minutes of inclined treadmill I've been having a very painful popping in my right elbow for a couple months. Even 20 pound dumbbell curls are unbearable. Tonight I tried a couple of the curl machines and was amazed there wasn't any pain. I did a few sets on the machine and some wrists curls
  9. I just googled sprouting lentils. Some quotes from the first page I read: Seems like a waste to me to go through the trouble of sprouting just to microwave them.
  10. I rinsed them 4 times yesterday. I've read that they will mold if you don't rinse them frequently
  11. I bought a scoop of green lentils while Potter was in town. Tuesday I decided to give sprouting a try. I soaked them until Wed morning and rinsed several times during the day. This morning, Thursday, they have tiny little tails. I'll be eating something made with raw lentils soon.

  13. I don't really like most nuts by themselves. The walnuts and dates usually get made into a date/nut tort 1 cup walnuts 1 cup raisins 8 dates as frosting

  15. Hey there Mr Potter. That is about what you have for breakfast, isn't it. The strawberries won't last long. They will be gone today. Most of it will last a couple days. The watermelon, carrots and peas, a little longer. The walnuts and dates get eaten slowly.

  17. Thanks JW Since I've gone vegan, I feel much better and have more energy. But the weight has been coming off too slowly for me. So my weight is my priority now. Losing excess weight can only improve the other things.
  18. I'm doing an unusual workout this week. I have a copier business and our basement has 10 years of accumulated old machines. This week, I am carrying them up the stairs loading them into a van and taking them to the landfill. They aren't so heavy (100-150 pounds) but they are big and awkward. Just right for 1 guy to struggle a little. It's all fun until you smash the back of your hand into the door latch while carrying a copier.

  20. 8:00 breakfast was 3 bananas 10:00 Smoothie, mostly water and frozen fruit, would be much better with fresh fruit. Noon 2 bananas 2:00 PM: 2 more bananas 5:00 PM: finished the last of my hummus and chips (cooked) Also had a smoothie with fresh fruit instead of frozen, much better than this morning's smoothie
  21. It's raw for me again. My first attempt only lasted about 2 days. I'm not going to be strict raw, just very high. Maybe someday I'll go raw for real. I'm afraid of what raw will be like during a Montana winter. I think snow is raw. Today's food: Bananas, strawberries, broccoli, carrots, peas, watermelon 1 scoop of vega after my evening workout. (not 100% raw)

  24. All I can find are the "seedless" watermelons. I don't chew those little white seeds, I don't like the flavor, but they get swallowed. By the looks of things the next morning, they don't get digested very much.
