  2. Wednesday, Feb 7 I didn't go to the gym tonight but I did my squats at home. Hi rep squat workout: 50 reps with 75 pound on my back My first 5 were front squats, but they really bother my wrists.
  3. I like to call myself an audiophile. I have old Adcom, Carver and Polk equipment But sorry can't help you with headphone choices. I'm able to use speakers all the time, I've never liked wearing headphones. I still have all my old vinyl from the 70s and 80s A project of mine is to get my vinyl transfered to my computer. I still have my old 8 tracks too, but the sound from those really sucked.
  4. I haven't been keeping track of my workouts lately, so I'll start again Tonight I did 30 minutes at 3 mph on the treadmill with slight incline. Mostly flat bench workout but tried a couple set of incline and decline.
  5. I rarely eat resturant bread. I doubt anybody in our resturants would know anyway. "What's vegan?" they would ask. I wish that we had anything like that in Billings, Montana. Beef is big business in Montana. I couldn't tell you how many steak and rib places we have here. We are surrounded by feedlots. There are only two place I eat at here, both Asian. I have to remember to tell them no eggs in my VEGETABLE fried rice at one of them. The other place is a Mongolian stirfry, so I choose my ingredients. With my luck, the Kung Pao sauce, probably has something nonvegan in it
  6. I speak American, British, Australian and some Canadian (not French) I know a little German and would like to learn German.
  7. Sunday, Jan 28 Warmup on the treadmill. Today was Biceps and Forearms day I also tried a few of the other machines in the gym Many of them seem awkward compared to dumbells or barbells My pecs are very sore today after only using 155 pounds on the bench yesterday. I can't remember the last time that my pecs were sore. I'm no expert, but I think that means that I used my pecs for the first time in a while.
  8. I like that, I've never heard it before. I eat about 3 bananas per day when I can buy them ripe. Lately all we've had are very green bananas, I don't like them very much.

Saturday, Jan 27 Tonight was the first night of lifting weights at my new gym. 20 minutes walking on the uphill treadmill Incline = 8 Speed = 3 mph Bench Press workout 95# x10 warmup 135# x10 warmup 155# x I can't remember how many sets I did, just until I could only do 3 reps I need to get a small notebook to log my workout.

  14. Not really sure of the entire Oz story. The salesman said they purchased several 24 Hour Fitness gyms in the NW (OR, WA, ID, MT) So far I haven't ventured into the weight area to lift. My 2 trips have been early morning and spent on the inclined treadmill.
  15. Yesterday I joined Oz Fitness, used to be a 24 hour fitness. I was able to get in on a friends corporate account for $20/month. It seems OK, lots of treadmills, elipticals, bikes, a few stair machines. Many weight machines and a large amount of free weights. The one lonely squat rack seems to be a popular place for people doing everything except squatting. I got an initial consultation from a trainer. Some good advice, some I didn't really agree with.
  16. Wednesday, Jan 17 - Push Day Back to basics (again) I seem to have lost my form in the bench press. I must not have learned it well enough first time. Warmup DB Bench Press 2x20# x10 DB Bench Press 2x40# x10 BB Bench Press 135# x10,10,10 DB Overhead Press 2x40# x 10,8,8 BB Tricep Extension 70# x6,9,8

Sunday, Jan 14 - Push Day Bench Press Warmup DB Press 2x20# x10 reps DB Press 2x40# x10 reps BB Press 135# x5 reps Program 175# x6 185# x5,5 195# x4,1 Another frustrating failure on the bench press. On the last set, I could only get it up once. I think I'm going back to my old ways of just using my arms. I can really feel it in my front delts. So I'm going back to lower weights for a while and re-concentrate on form.
  19. You could move to Billings, it's balmy here. We should have all that cold Canadian air pushed back up north bay next week.
  20. JW How are temps this morning in the Great White North? We got a little cooler than expected last night. -17F (-27C) At least we only have wind gusts of 2 mph, so almost no wind chill factor. The car complained for about 5 seconds before she started this morning I should have plugged her in last night.
  21. We got some of your cold Canadian air last night eh. This morning I woke up to zero F, that's -15 C Going to get up to 6F today. Lucky we don't have much wind. Right now the wind chill is -9F or -22C It's going to be a little cooler tonight and tomorrow night Then it is forecast to get better for us.
  22. You see them touch the spiders with the swab. Maybe there wasn't anything on the swab. I don't know if spiders act that crazy on their own naturally
