  1. Ha - it looks like he's just using the stove as extra storage space for all that fruit. It's also useful as clock http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/RIPMacDre/fruit002.jpg
  2. http://www.huetheronline.org/vbb/applesauce.jpg I used these ingredients: 5 organic Gala apples 1 organic D'Anjou pear - I had one getting ripe so I threw it in. 1 tsp organic cinnamon Everything goes in the food processor until it's sauce.
  3. My goal of 315 by May of next year is in jeopardy. I got 225 up almost 2 months ago. Since then I've only gotten 225 up twice. Yesterday, I was only barely able to get 215 up. I'm going back to my 3x8 with a one breath pause at the bottom for a while. Those always seem to burn my chest. 250x3x8 should get me close to 315 1RM
  4. That diet should reverse the symptoms of most diseases. Just eliminate refined foods and animal products. Eat only whole foods, and as much as possible should be organic and raw. Somebody that already has symptoms should be monitored by a doctor. It's best if the doctor is not a drug pusher.
  5. http://www.huetheronline.org/vbb/bananapie.jpg I tried almonds in my pie crust this time. I like walnuts or pecans better. Crust 2 Cups Walnuts 12 Medjool Dates Grind the nuts in a food processor, add the dates when nuts are fine. Filling Bananas Chilled to thicken the bananas
  6. The lack of knowledge of our health by our health care providers is scarey. Most people think that just because they are doctors, they are experts. The truth is only a small percentage of doctors know more than the average person. What nutritional classes did your cousin take in school? I'll bet she believes that milk builds strong bones.
  7. I found this link to an interesting home made gym http://www.tsampa.org/training/toffesgym/
  8. I'm happy to say that I haven't been sick in almost 2 years, not even a cold. Before that I would catch every cold that came through the office. It seems like everyday I'm around somebody that has a cold. Somebody in the office makes fun of my health "kick" to other people. Never says anything to my face about it though. He's got a cold today, I heard him sneezing and blowing his nose. Sorry to say that I chuckled to myself at his poor health. Get well soon John.
  9. In 7 years we both can compete in the 50+ age group. Actually I don't have any desire to compete in weightlifting or bodybuilding. I have to respect those that do compete, but it's just not for me. But you never know, goals can change. I told myself I would be satisfied when I could bench 225. Now that I achieved that goal, I want to bench 315.
  10. I agree, they are all good. I also like that they are raw. I couldn't decide which to buy, so I got a bunch of each.
  11. Like you, I am also stronger than I've ever been in my life. My muscles are still covered by a layer of fat though, trying to remedy that. Your avatar looks lean and muscular.
  12. Now I've tried all the Vega flavors. Thanks for the samples Robert. The Berry flavor is definitely my favorite powder. All the bars taste good so I can't decide which is my favorite.
  13. Hi John, Billings isn't what I would call vegan friendly. Restaurant choices are very slim unless you want an iceberg salad. We do have a couple Asian places that I eat at occasionally. My progress is slow but steady, I don't work as hard as most people here. If I do more reps or more weight than the previous week, I'm happy. I workout at home, I have a bench with cable attatchment and assorted DumbBells. I do my workouts in the morning like you do. I drink Vega and soy milk and read emails between sets. The body part that seems to be improving the best for me is chest doing bench presses. I've split my routine into 3 parts. I'm sure I'm missing some body parts, anybody can make suggestions. Upper Body Push Bench Press Delts Triceps Upper Body Pull Cable Pull Downs, still trying to get a pullup Bicep Curls Gripping exercises for my forearms. Shrugs Sometimes Cable Rows Lower Body Hanging Leg Raises (I think that's what they are called) Crunches DumbBell Squats I still haven't started doing deadlifts.
  14. I just turned 43. I was born in Fort Ord, California in 1963. My dad was stationed there in the army. 10 months later he got out and we moved back to his hometown in Montana. I've lived in Montana since then except for 1 year in ND at college, and one year in SD working.
  15. Got my Vega from Food Fight and the bonus pack from Robert yesterday. Thanks Roberts
  16. Welcome to the forums Chalisa. Everybody here is very supportive and helpful. I've also read Dr. Fuhrman's book, it is great.
  17. I didn't have to do anything, they were just right at room temperature. They did thicken a little overnight after I put them in the refridgerator. The picture was taken just a few minutes after I finished it.
  18. Saturday - Oct, 14 I started the EAS Bench Press Program again today. My 1 RM is still 225. My goal is 250 by the end of November. I got 230 almost up, but not quite. http://www.huetheronline.org/vbb/bench.jpg
  19. I use the Vega Berry powder. It's the only flavor that I've tried. You sent me a bar when I ordered your DVD, it was really good. I just ordered a big tub of the berry flavored. They take Paypal, and I had money in my account.
  20. I need to make another, I shared it with people, now it's gone. They came back for a second piece, so it must have been good. One guy wanted to put it in a microwave to warm it up! That's one way to kill a raw pie.
  21. http://www.huetheronline.org/vbb/applepie.jpg It turned out to be mostly applesauce pie, there aren't many chunks left. CRUST 2 cups walnuts ground up in food processor. 12 Medjool dates ground up in food processor. Do walnuts first, then add dates FILLING 6 Gala apples ground up in food processor. (Just the apples makes great applesauce)
  22. Mine wasn't runny at all. Just chilled it at never ate it at room temperature.
  23. I bought the blueberries from Costco, fresh not frozen. I also got the medjool dates from Costco. Too bad Costco doesn't have much fresh and organic produce. Tonights project will be a raw banana cream pie.
  24. RECIPE FOR RAW BLUEBERRY PIE From Alissa Cohens's book "Living on Live Food" Her DVD and book are very good. Crust: 2 cups almonds. I used pecans because I had no almonds 1/2 cup pitted and soaked dates (I used 12 dates) Filling: 5 cups blueberries 2 bananas 1.5 Tablespoons of honey (I didn't use any honey) ---------------- For Crust 1. In a food processor, grind the almonds until fine. 2. Add the dates and blend until smooth. 3. Remove from processor and pat down into the pie plate. For Filling 1. In a food processor, combine 4 cups blueberries, 2 bananas and honey. Blend until smooth. 2. Remove from food processor and add 1 cup of whole blueberries. 3. Poor into crust. 4. Refridgerate for at least 3 hours
  25. I made this today. The crust is pecans and dates. The filling is blueberry and banana. It's raw except for whatever they do to the pecans. The bin said raw, but I don't think they are truely raw. The strange design on the top is from the plastic wrap I used to cover it while chilling. http://www.huetheronline.org/vbb/blueberrypie.jpg
