Hi, folks. I'm starting this thread to find about your city's disc golf scene (especially Portland). My husband is really into it and I play a little. We have one course in Omaha, and there are a couple in other nearby cities. He likes the one closest to home best, though.

Is anyone on here in to the art of parkour? Do you ever walk around and think of everything around you as one big obstacle course? I know I do, and that's why I think parkour is a such a great concept. It seems like something that would just be a lot of fun to do.

I've noticed there are a few people on here who boulder. I've only done bouldering once, but given that I live in the city I'm more interested in applying the skill to the built environment. Anyway, this thread is for anyone who want to talk about buildering and urban climbing.

He has 100+ records. A lot of them are endurance related. At the age of 51 he looks like hes late 20s or something. Amazing fitness. Thats my role model from now

I have been practicing my trackstands and I am getting the hang of it. I can't really hold it for a long period but I will get there. It only took me a day to get the idea of it and how to focus on balancing. Now all I need is time and persistence. Now Can anyone here trackstand for more than a minute? and any pointers would be great. Who doesn't stare in aww when you pull up to a red light and pull a trackstand I will have pictures and maybe a video up here as soon as I can master this talent!!! I am starting crazy 12h shifts so I won't be cycling as much as I would like at all...

My sifu said for all the yang activity I do, I need to eat yang foods. Usually that is associated with meat. Obviously unacceptable. Which veggies or fruit have more yang? I'm guessing kale, since it's strong and grows in the sun. Chili for sure, because it's spicy. Others? I practice choy li fut kung fu, which has an internal qi moving aspect to it. Hence the need to balance the yin and yang in all things.

virtually everyone you talk to thinks that all pro riders are guilty of doping or taking some kind of performance enhancer. These guys seem to be clearly a step ahead of the anti-doping authorities. Is there any hope for this sport?

I currently ride to work and back everyday and go for rides on the weekend (1-2 hour duration) I like road and trails equally. I might be using the bike in cold weather (possibly in winter) I don't have any immediate plans on changing this usage. Here's my dilemma..... 1. I don't want to spend a lot of money right now, so If I bought new it would be a lower end around $250 2. My current bike is an older model Norco MTB. A bit heavy but very durable. 3. Is putting money into an old bike just putting good into bad? Does it make sense to upgrade components each year as I can afford them?

I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on whether weight has anything to do with cycling speed, meaning, is there an optimal weight (accompanied by possessing optimum strength for that weight) for one's riding speed? Or, in theory, if someone was 100 pounds but the strongest 100 pound person possible, would they be able to match someone who was 150 pounds, and the strongest 150 pound person ever in speed? Did that make sense?

I know there are some tell tale signs of good tae kwon do and karate dojos(big windows, wrong flags and trophies everywhere are no nos) but i was wondering if there are things i should be looking out for when i search for a place to train muay thai this summer. I have one place in mind that's right by my house and another that is much further away. There's another one in skokie i might give a call if this first one looks shady.

I'm trying to get more into yoga, but my hamstrings are so tight. Yoga is not as enjoyable as I know it could be if I had looser hamstrings. What should I do to loosen them up?

anyone play? I just rediscovered it. My friend is a school teacher and we went to his school gym to play some sports. Started playing some indoor soccer, hoops and then badminton. I haven't played in many years so I got the rust out in a game or so. It was a blast!!! I actually lost one point because I was laughing so hard! I kept placing alternating deep and short shots which kept my buddy running like a madman muttering the entire time. I finally flubbed a shot because I couldn't stop laughing. guess I have an evil streak
