It's been so damn long since I've had ranch dressing, I had sort of forgotten it exists, until I was on the vegcooking.com site and found this recipe. It's outta-control good! Goes great with a spinach salad! It calls for 1/4 tsp. dill but I used more...cuz I'm a dillweed : ). 'Ranch' Dressing 1/2 cup Nayonaise 1/2 cup Veganaise 1/4 cup soy milk 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/2 tsp. black pepper 2 rounded tsp. fresh chopped parsley 1-1/2 tsp. apple cider vinegar 1/4 tsp. dill • Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until creamy. (I assume you can use all Vega…

Last night someone really wanted me to try a Cliff Nectar bar, said it was way better than Larabar, but I had to point out it is not raw (actually uses roasted nuts and juice from concentrate...lame...) So I made my own by reading the ingredients and they came out great! Into the food processor went: 1 cup soaked cashews (if you had time to dehydrate a little the bars would be more solid) 5-7 dates 1/2 meyers lemon juiced 1/2 vanilla bean pod Then I pressed it out on a plate and sliced it up, I ate it all in one sitting as my dessert last night, but unless you have a fiery digestive system like mine I would suggest against that. Admittedly the ingredients above co…

This was my most successful raw cooking experience, I made a raw birthday cake with my friends. Before that I fooled around by putting dates, almonds, salt, and apples in a food processor and calling it raw apple pie filling. This time I measured 3 cups raw walnuts 20 dates 1 tsp vanilla 2/3 scant cups of cacao pinch of sea salt frosting! 3 handfuls of cashews in a glass filled just over the cashews. Soaked them for 6 hours or so as much agave as I wanted 1 tsp of vanilla and about half the water used to soak the cashews. The frosting was thick and fantastic. post your raw recipes here if you got 'em. Thanks.

This recipe comes straight out of Alissa Cohen's "Living on Live Food" I would definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in raw recipes. It has tons of recipes that remind me of food I used to eat, except now it is the healthy version. These really taste like cinnamon poptarts to me. Ingredients: 2 cups sprouted wheat berries 1 cup dates, pitted 3/4 cups water Filling: 2 cups macadamia nuts 2 cups agave syrup 2 teaspoons cinnamon (I use WAY more because I love cinnamon) Blend wheat berries, dates and water in food processor until smooth. Spread on a teflex sheet about 1/8 inch thick. (I like to sprinkle cinnamon on the wrapper too) Dehydrate for a few…

I made this last night with Lean and Green. 3 cups of sprouted Chick Peas 1 cup of sunflower seeds 2 cloves of garlic 1 onion 3 squeezed lemons 1 cup of tahini 2 tsp of cumin or curry spice (or both) 1.5 tsp of salt . Blend all ingredients together, roll in little balls or patti's on a dehydrator sheet. Put in for 8 hrs or longer. Flip them over every 2-3 hrs. If we find LG's camera. I hope to post some pictures when they are finished.

Hi all, I've been thinking of trying a raw food plan like on the main website as I've got a few lb's of bodyfat still hanging around that just isn't going away on my current diet. One question I have, I've seen some plans that use beans, typical things like soy beans and the like.. What do you do about them as you HAVE to cook them, even if they come pre cooked out of a can as they are toxic if you don't.

I had a going away potluck in nyc at my pad before I moved to Portland. Someone brought over this Key Lime Pie and it was so over the top freakin' delicious that I asked her for the recipe. Haven't made it myself but everyone loved it. It is extremely rich, as i'm sure you'll be able to tell by the ingredients.... Just though i'd share Also we're making a raw food thanksgiving and cooked too so hopefully a nice post tonight to explain what will go into the recipes. The raw stuffing is reaaally tasty. Raw Key Lime Pie Crust: (Combine in a food processor) 1 1/2 cups almonds (or nut of choice) 1 1/2 cups dried coconut flakes 1/2 cup dates (or enough to stick ever…

So I bought a couple pounds of raw oatmeal thinking it would make a good breakfast cereal, and I just finished chewing this morning (started eating it 30 minutes ago or something). Can I soak this stuff first or should I leave it in my bowl of soy juice overnight? Any other suggestions for use?

So I have decided to start working in additional protein sources beyond just greens slowly in my raw diet, I feel my body needs it and training demands it, so this is a fun way to do it for me! In the food processor: 4-5 scoops hemp protein (about 140g total, 70g of that protein) 2 carrots (chopped) 5 brazil nuts (soaked, chopped) 2 tbls carob 1 tbls agave 2 tbls coconut oil 1 tbls hemp oil Process well then press into a cake shape on a plate, cool in the fridge to solidify. Because I have been eating only fruits and veggies for a while, this is a couple days worth for me. Ingredients are very approximated, I do not measure anything. This would most likely be bett…

I had posted this question on another forum but haven't received any feedback yet. I've been gradually adding more raw greens to my daily menu. Last weekend, I chomped on two huge leaves of swiss chard (organic). The last time I had some (years ago), it was cooked. After a few bites, my throat started to feel scratchy and "burned," similar to the last few times I've tried eating honeydew melon. I'm thinking I may be allergic to them. Anyone else experience this? Thanks, SeaWillow (Jean)

This is definitely one of my favorite recipes. I make raw chili and roll it inside corn tortillas. It is so good!!!! This recipe requires a dehydrator. This is the dehydrator I use. http://www.amazon.com/Nesco-American-Harvest-Snackmaster-Dehydrator/dp/B0009OIDAG/sr=8-1/qid=1164921142/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-5386231-8501728?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden There are more expensive models on the market but this one works fine for me. I may upgrade in the future though. The original recipe for corn tortillas is in Alissa Cohen’s “Living on Live Food” I leave out a couple ingredients from the original recipe when I make them. Here’s my version. 4 cups frozen corn – thawed f…
