Being that there are virtually no all vegan restaurants around me, I check with the waiter/waitress about ingredients in things like breads, dressings (or I just request vinegar and oil), pastas, and sauces......usually they're pretty accomodating

I'm on the same wavelength as lobsteriffic....water aerobics or something similar shouldnt be as hard on the body and you'd have virtually no impact. Maybe you could check with your physician and see if something like this would benefit you. Good luck with your recovery.

Thank you soooo much!! I'm checking into it a.s.a.p.

Thank you guys for the feedback!!

I am going to start taking a class using kettlebells next week ) They sound promising after reading all the positive feedback on them.

Than you guys for all the feedback. I think we're slowly but surely working things out.....one day at atime.

Thanks- you're right about the internet not being the go to source for advice......but it IS an accessible outlet at times. I'm making an appointment with a professional today. He is atleast willing to try that approach.....so here's to hoping it works!

Any advice on dealing with a non vegan husband? He's generally supportive to some degree but refuses to even try my vegan dishes. Lately he blames every little sniffle I have on being a vegan. I've tried to get him to read some books on the topic and even a magazine but he thinks this is "a phase". VERY frustrating and to make matters worse there are no vegans at the gym or in my local area. Thank God for the Vegan bodybuilding and fitness community!
Any words of wisdom on dealing with this would be most appreciated.

I've just finished up the last of my skincare and was wondering what is available that's also cruelty free and vegan that anyone else really likes and/or recommends. Thanks!

When I lift legs heavy recovery time is approx. 3 days.......still sore but I find I can retrain most of the time......with the help of a littler TIGER BALM....gets me through
-
MaryStella you are such a motivator for me!! You're awesome. Thankyou for the inspiration to keep on going!

I try to train every muscle twice per week, with abs as the exception as I train them 6 days. Sometimes if I lift legs heavy and I'm really sore, I'll just wait until they've recovered a bit. I do cardio either the elliptical or stairmill or running 6 days whether or not I lift those daystoo.

Has anyone tried the berry flavor Vega? I'm planning on trying that next. I tried the recipe for chocolate pudding using the chocolate and it was good for breakfast....something different. Is the SunWarrior tasty?
-
I've been taking VEGA a couple months now and WHAT A DiFFERENCE! I use the vanilla chai in the A.M. and the chocolate after workouts. This stuff is amazing.....maybe a tad pricier but well worth it in my opinion. My energy is great and I just feel more alive.....I know that sounds kinda weird but I don't know how else to say it. Thanks to Vega for a feel good shake!

lobsteriffic, I just checked out your blog and you have some great recipes on there! Thanks for some great ideas....I'm gonna try the TVP meatloaf soon.

Thanks everyone!!

Thank you guys for the advice! I really appreciate it. I really need your input as I'm the only one in my gym and in my area that is a vegan!

I just finished reading the article on eating fruit. Very interesting.....definitely food for thought.

Since transitioning to a vegan regime I've been substituting either tofu, vegan boca burger, or tempeh ounce for ounce instead of chicken or egg whites on my meals for protein. A friend at the gym told me this wouldn't be as effective as the chicken. Can anyone help me? Thanks. My main goals are to keep the muscle Ihave and to lose bodyfat. Will this work? I weigh 135lbs. I also supplement at least one meal per day with vega and aim to get 35g of protein a day. Thanks

I used to ice skate a lot and want to start back into it and now I find myself needing to get a new pair of iceskates. I am getting very mixed results trying to find a quality pair of vegan figure skates. Some companies say they don't exist while others claim their product is vegan with a leather sole.....hello! I can't seem to get a straight answer. If anyone has any info on this I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

Do you know any sites that carry McDougall's soup?? My local store doesn't carry it but it sounds good!! Thanks.

Okay Linus!! I think I (finally) did it. With all your help of course. Thanks so much as this type of thinking doesn't seem to be my thing. I think I must be right brained but totally lacking in the left portion.
