Tasha,
I'm unclear on whether ya were asking what I meant by the terms I used or what plants in nature are safe to eat (wild edibles) in our bio-region ( Cascadia: http://www.cascwild.org/cascadia.html ). I am certainly not yet familiar enough with Cascadia's wild edible's to feel comfortable with my ability to live off of them as my sole source of nutrition. I definitely want to be but until that point and in the famed hypothetical "what if?" situation, I certainly would not starve rather than eat animals, eggs, etc.

Is it time for VB&F to have a German sub-forum as our first non-english section?
-
Which other Seattle vegan places have ya checked out Pooter?
-
Thanks for sharing these awesome photos. It would have been awesome if me & mine had been there with ya'll!
It's been far too long since I've made it to a Gathering...
Didja hear of any coming up out here in Cascadia?

Yay for Cascadia!

Thanks for sharing these photos!
I deeply appreciated meeting everyone. I want to get to know all of you better & I hope to see each of you again sooner than later. Let's definitely do more frequent gatherings, potlucks, hikes, etc - at least locally & regionally!!!

Ya'll coming out to visit would definitely qualify as being a great time for putting together a serious mini-VV!
Lotus, myself & many others were really looking forward to meeting ya'll... Yr cupcakes & amazing cooking were also sorely missed!
Thanks for sharing the awesome pic's! McConnell's Mill State Park rates very highly on my western PA places to visit list. Lotus hiked there when she was a kid & speaks fondly of it.

That's just wrong. I would still choose to live off plants. And instead I would share my food with the animals.
Tasha, are ya familiar enough with wild edible's here in Cascadia to live off of them? I'd love to learn how to do that!

Hiya!
I'm husband to Lotus & daddy to our 3 awesome & vegan since before they were born children. I'll let Lotus reply to most of your questions but wanted to add that I'm also very happy to see anouther vegan parent here - there's more of us all the time! It would definitely be great to have your family (and more families & kids in general) come out for Vegan Vacation 2008!

Veganism has only become fairly common in the United States over the past 10 years or so and that even now most people in this country have no idea what vegan means and are VERY meat centered in their diets. Even many folks who are familiar with the word vegan do not fully understand the concept...
But things are changing and getting better quickly here. I'm sure that Greece, Spain and the rest of the world will see the same positive changes too!

Thanks for setting up this chat option Richard! I'll try to pop in whenever I can - I love chatting with VB&F folks.

Dang you & yr extremely awesome roadtrip Ravi!!!

Its those strange big black cassette tapes that people used to use when watching movies at home prior to DVDs coming on the scene. A few of us still use 'em...

It would be awesome to have a forum meet-up while yr in Seattle Nicole! Any chance ya could make it down to Portland for a few days too?
As for getting around Seattle & Mercer Island, bus is good - bus & bike should be great! Here's the area's bus website: http://transit.metrokc.gov/

This is one of my favorite movies & I already have a copy so I'm selling this. Questions?

I hope to meet you soon Ben!

Bye Potter & Jaime - we'll miss you!
I second the Pdx VB&F events list idea!

The food looks tasty & fairly unique. That said the price aint cheap & the location strikes me as likely to add to the gentrification of NoPo...

Great news! So when will we see yr dad posting here?

Thanks for posting this Salim!
It was awesome to visit with you & your fiance during Vegan Vacation. I hope to see you again soon - both here on the forum & also up in VanCity.

I still have not tried Chaco & I cant compare Seattle's options to Phillie's based on personal experience but I do know that Seattle has lots of vegan & vegan friendly places. PETA rates them as the #2 most Veg-Friendly city, after #1 Portland of course!
