  1. I think it is very important to not let the muscles get used to much to one kind of training. Especially advanced sportsmen have to vary the methods to keep getting stronger or whatever. But the most important thing in this context is written in my signature...

    New!

Welcome and be careful: Being member of this forum my make you go vegan
  3. Of course it is okay... But if you do, don`t be surprised if your muscles keep growing and you keep gaining weight (if you meat enough)...
  4. @Kathryn: Sorry, but I did not get your point. Do you agree to what I said or do you disagree?
  5. Welcome to our little VBB-online-family
  6. Welcome you great anonymous!
  7. Even after years of intense training it is possible to get stronger without building extra mass. As I said before you can improve maximal strength by training the intramuscular coordination. This kind of training will not add muscles but "only" makes the existing muscles stronger.
  8. Here is a link to a german scientific tv-show. Verweildauer (written below the animation) means duration in that part of the digestive system. [/url]
  9. Hey Pete! I am really sorry that it is not me going to portsmouth but my partner now that I here that news. I would love to train with such a big and motivating english guy . But my friend will be happy to hear this news. He is about 194 cm and 100 kg and is pumping iron for about 8 years now. Since he has gone vegetarian (14 month ago) and started training with me ( ) he constantly becomes stronger! I will tell him to join the forum now (since I am his friend not his mother ) Thanks again!

    Hey!

Welcome aboard! Eating healthy and working out is exactly what your (and every other) body needs
  12. I do not know if training the intramuscular coordination (about 1-4 reps) is usefull for long distance runners. I know sprinters do that kind of workout to become more explosive...
  13. You mainly did 10 reps and this produces muscle growth if you eat enough. Do more reps (>15) and the hypertrophy will slow down and stop.
  14. How did you train? How many exercises, sets and reps are you doing? To answer your question shortly: Yes. But ( ) if you are not used to weight-training you might experience a increase of BW by the growth of your muscles during the first few month. But uf you do not go for hypertrophy (6-15 reps) afterwards you will not keep gaining BW as long as you do not eat too many calories (weight training can make you really hungry...)
  15. @Daywalker: I thought about your "kneecrusher". Maybe it looks like this exercise which is done for injury prevention in norway and the US primarily: http://www.ostrc.no/media/ostrc/%7B4AFB194F-C510-4389-A250-38A3EC9EC7C1%7D.jpg
  16. Last week I was ill and missed 3 sessions. I lost 2kg BW but hopefully not to much strength. I will start training on thursday again
  17. Nice to have you here! Enjoy it!
  18. My partner (only for training ) leaves me and starts studying in Portsmouth/England in autumn. Since I only found Richard in England (but about 300km away from Portsmouth I shout it out here: Does anybody know some vegans in Portsmouth or nearby? Someone throwing some weights around would be perfect Thank you all!
